Please forward this email to the correct department. I live in Belleair, FL. At last month’s meeting, the commissioner discussed eliminating Zoom for town meetings and has now decided to cease using it. Belleair commissioner stated technology glitches during a meeting could be construed as violating the state’s public participation statute. Which Florida statute would that be, and how does it violate public participation? Town attorney Daigneault remarked that the Florida Attorney General had issued legal opinions on the Zoom issue. I was unable to find a legal opinion concerning Zoom. Was there a legal opinion that would mandate not using Zoom? What was the legal opinion issued by the AG that directly affected Zoom access? Commissioner Nessler, an attorney, agreed about “the possible failure of technology,” stating he’s had “difficulty communicating with people on Zoom” recently. Nessler and Commissioner Shelly each said they were in favor of eliminating Zoom access. Would eliminating Zoom access also reduce civic engagement, accountability, and transparency? Is doing this in the best interest of Belleair residents? Please supply me with facts and figures to counter their unsubstantiated claims.

I've been a user (not host) of zoom meetings for years. Suddenly today I missed 3 webinars b/c when I clicked on the button to join, I got the message I needed to upgrade to latest zoom. All instructions I find online assume I already have zoom client desk or something like that. I don't have that and can't find it to download. Seems I have to have an account of some sort to sign and get any help. I didn't know one needed to have an account or plan to use zoom. I did download a file called zoominstallerFull.exe and later zoominstaller.exe but neither one opens or installs when I L click or R click on the name. Don't know where to go from here. Can anybody help with this?

Good day !

It was a surprise for me when I was charged again for one year subscription ending in April 2024, as I no longer use so often Zoom and also having faced frequent sound connection problem.  So I do not want Zoom th charge me again against my will when April 2024 comes.  So it means that I want to desactivate this damned automatic renewal.  I cant find a way to do it.

Can someone tell me what is the procedure for making sure it does not happen ?

I have a question about the article: Frequently asked questions about Ukraine VAT (Last Updated: January 10, 2023).

 

“Zoom is registered for VAT in Ukraine as a non-resident supplier of electronically supplied services. Zoom’s VAT registration number will be shown on the invoice it issues to you.”

 

“<…> if you are a legal entity that is not registered for VAT, you may still be treated as a business customer and such, Zoom is not required to charge VAT on supplies made to you. If this applies to you, please contact Billing and provide your state registration number “EDRPOU” to update your tax-exempt status. As a business customer, you will still be required to self-assess the VAT due under the “reverse-charge” mechanism.”

 

”If you have provided a valid VAT registration number to Zoom or where you have confirmed your legal entity status with Zoom’s Billing team, no VAT will be charged on the supplies made to you. However, you may be required to report the purchase and self-assess for the VAT due under the “reverse charge” mechanism in your VAT return or, if you are not registered for VAT, by submission of the “Calculation of tax liabilities, assessed by non-VAT registered recipient of services provided by non-residents on the customs territory of Ukraine, including by their non-VAT-registered permanent establishments”. For more details on compliance please refer to the respective by-law.”

 

The aforementioned “Calculation…” states that “Calculation of tax liabilities, assessed by non-VAT registered recipient of services provided by non-residents on the customs territory of Ukraine, including by their non-VAT-registered permanent establishments”, is filled out by non-VAT-registered persons, which in accordance with Clause 180.2 of Article 180 of Chapter V of the Tax Code of Ukraine, are responsible for calculating and paying tax to the budget when receiving services provided by non-VAT-registered non-residents, including their permanent representative offices, on the customs territory of Ukraine.

 

So if Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (611648780) is registered for VAT in Ukraine as a non-resident then a non-VAT-registered Ukrainian resident legal entity is not required to fill out and submit the “Calculation…”. Right?
