I am a new Zoom phone admin and we seem to be having some troubles with call forwarding. We are mostly using Poly vvx250 phones, but we have 2 receptionists that use vvx450s (pretty much the same thing).

The receptionists are used to accessing features from a physical phone and seem to be hesitant to use the zoom portal settings.
From a simple extension desk phone, I can use a soft key button to forward calls to another extension and any calls are forwarded fine regardless if it's an internal or external incoming phone call.

But if we try to replicate the same process on either of the receptionists phone, the phone calls are not getting forwarded. There is no notification on either phone of a call and neither phone will ring.
The only difference I can think of, is both of these reception phones are members of their own call queues.
I can't find any call queue settings that should affect the phone's forwarding process but I can't think of anything else that is different.
One work around is getting the receptionists to temporarily add another extension to the call queue; but I'm just not sure if they are up to that. It would be easier for them if the functionality on the physical phone worked properly.

My team is in the process of testing power pack for deployment to receptionist and is having issues. It seems that it shows up for some users as an option but not for others that have the same exact settings (including call queues,  delegation, calling plan, etc.) Are we missing something obvious?

We are currently in the process of moving from Cisco CUCM to Zoom Phones. As a larger organization with a small IT department we don't have the manpower to port all of our phones at once. Most of our users are used to using 4 digit dialing for interoffice communications, and we don't want to ask them to use 10 digit for an extended period of time. We have a way in CUCM to create 'mobility'/forwarding to external numbers and automatically assign them to users via CSV. is there a way to do something similar in the zoom admin console?

From my observations, when creating a user via SAML or SCIM, there is no way to automatically assign extensions and phone numbers to the user. In other words if you don't provide a valid extension and available phone number attribute, the user creation will not be provisioned with zoom phone capability. 

In fact, if you don't provide at least an extension number, the user will not even appear as a phone users, even if you provide a license. 

This creates an issue for medium to large companies, especially in the context of avoiding manual work associated with new users. 

Currently we are thinking of solving this by adding a layer of automation script to help assign extensions, but would want avoid this step if possible. This automation would basically query zoom to find the next available phone numbers and extensions, and assign those to the users IDP (azure in our case) attributes for extension and phone number. Those attributes would then be used during SAML and SCIM provisioning to successfully assign phone capability to the user. 

My questions are:

1. Does anyone have suggestions for provisioning phone users automatically in an easier way? perhaps I am missing something obvious. 

2.  Zoom - can you please make an option within user creating templates for "Assign user next available extension automatically" and "Assign user next available phone number automatically"? this would make things so much easier. 

3. For others using azure to store zoom phone information, what attribute do you store your zoom extension? I don't think azure AD has an existing field for phone extension.
