At my workplace, we've been experiencing recurring issues with the Zoom app during meetings. While the meetings are in progress, the screen unexpectedly goes black, disrupting the session. To address the problem, I’ve already checked the app's permissions and have gone through the process of uninstalling and reinstalling the Zoom application. However, while these steps temporarily resolve the issue for a single meeting, the problem reappears during subsequent sessions. This has become a persistent challenge, and I'm looking for insights or solutions to ensure the app functions consistently without interruptions.

Hello everyone,
I am AV technician and manage 100 plus zoom rooms. one user complained that on controller this message popped up when connecting meeting  "Preferred speaker and preferred microphone and preferred camera error messages are popping up when trying to connect."

it got resolved by itself after few seconds.
when I checked logs on zoom meeting, it says "Room name got disconnected from meeting. Reason : Network connection error. "

this had happened in the past too with other rooms and user complaint about it. I am trying to dig deeper into this and try to solve root cause of it.
I asked networked team to help but they need more informartion and proper logs for that. they dont see any wrong with their side unless I give them proper reason or logs for that.

room is using polycom controller and polycom bar and mics.

any help would be appreciated

I attend two regular class meetings hosted by two people in England.  I'm in Canada (not sure if this makes any difference for connectivity).  They often divide our groups into breakout rooms.  Usually I can go into the first breakout room with no problem, but when they do a second breakout session, I lose my audio and video connection.  Generally, I can hear what's going on, but the participants in the breakout room cannot hear or see me.  I get an exclamation mark that my mic is not connected, though I have done nothing.  Then Zoom freezes and tells me 'Zoom is not responding'.  I've tried closing out Zoom, unplugging my camera/mic and re-plugging it in, rebooting.  Getting out of Zoom is extremely difficult, and it's only by unplugging my camera/mic and rebooting several times that I can finally get back into the meeting--if it hasn't finished by the time I do.  This whole procedure usually takes me about 20 minutes of absolute frustration, as I am missing out on half of my classes. Any suggestions, please and thanks?  I am on the Basic Plan now, as I wasn't using Premium often enough to host, but it happened in Premium as well.  I use Windows 10 on a desktop, in Firefox.

Hi all!

I've searched quite a bit for this and am struggling to find a solution.

Our preference is to send Meeting Invites from within the Zoom App when we schedule a new meeting. We have a way of automatically preparing student email addresses where they are separated by a comma.

However, this is resulting in ALL invitees receiving EVERYONE'S email address. Is there a way to turn this off inside the Zoom Settings? We'd prefer not to have to use an external Email Client if at all possible.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

Resolved! Meeting group chat: Turn off “[person] joined as a guest” and “[person] left” messages

When hosting large meetings this really compromises the chat experience. Can I turn these messages/notifications off?

Does the transcription only go to the person who turned it on? How can I find out who this was or get a copy? I thought I would be able to access it after the meeting.

Seeing more responses on the issue, I updated my original message to make it more useful.

Problem:

On my Windows 11 laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad, E495, ethernet wired connection), when I start Zoom (even without signing in, same with Microsoft Team), the internet speed test shows a 30-times drop, from 450 Mbps to ~10 Mbps.

Temporary remedy:

After your Zoom session, QUIT Zoom (or Team) COMPLETELY so your internet speed is back to normal. You make sure this by clicking the "Show hidden icons" arrow at the bottom-right of your screen to see all the applications running and exit Zoom if it is still there.

Attempted fix. It worked briefly for an earlier version of Zoom, but does not work anymore (after Zoom version evolution) as of Oct. 11, 2023 :

1.) Search for the "Control Panel" and open this up.

2.) In the window that comes up, click on the "Network and Internet" link

3.) In there, there will be a link that says "Internet Options", click on that to get another pop-up window

4.) In that pop-up window, towards the top, look for the tab that says "Advanced" and click on that

5.) Scroll to the bottom of that window, look for where it lists "Use TLS", check "Use TLS 1.3", and uncheck "Use TLS 1.2".

Also tried Google Meet. Although the network speed test shows no issue, all applications become slow and lagging. It is worse than Zoom -- even the slowdown-plagued version.
