Resolved! Backup Plan When Zoom Phone System Is Down

We noticed that zoom system was down last week and we were unable to call at that stage. Does zoom provide a plan that can separate the desk phone and VoIP app? You can choose to use VoIP as default. But when there's a problem, network isn't working ... Show more

We noticed that zoom system was down last week and we were unable to call at that stage. Does zoom provide a plan that can separate the desk phone and VoIP app? You can choose to use VoIP as default. But when there's a problem, network isn't working for example. You then choose to use only desk phone which goes through traditional landline. And vice versa, if the landline is down, you can choose to go only VoIP. This is an open discussion as network problem or power outage happens very often.

I subscribed to the Zoom Phone plan and believed it included call transcriptions or captions. Is it possible to enable this feature? If so, could you please guide me on how to activate it?

Want simultaneous ring but want voicemail in the app only

Call Forwarding Problem

After setting my Zoom phone standard auto. answer I decided to start forwarding my calls to my answering service.  My calls are not being forwarded.  When my number is called, my old standard answer is still immediately picking up.  Please help.

Hi All!  New to Zoom Phone.  We are moving from another cloud PBX provider to Zoom Phone and Zoom CC over the next few months.  We have right round 90 locations.  Our current provider has a nice feature where a Business Hours/Holiday schedule can be "shared" to multiple AAs (Auto Receptionists.)  Time zones are set at the AA level.  With this, we are able to have about a dozen Business Hours/Holiday schedules that are unique and can be assigned to AAs as needed.  Where this really shines is when it's time to update the Holiday dates.  As we roll to a new year, we need only update those dozen-ish schedules with the new year Holiday dates rather than having to go to each of our 90-ish AAs and update the Holiday dates there.

 

Is there a way to replicate this Business Hours/Holiday scenario in Zoom Phone?  Something like a "shared" Business Hours schedule?  Thanks!

I enabled the Zoom call transcript and today I used it on two calls, but I cannot locate the transcript.  Where do I find them to copy and paste them into a system?

Like many others here, I'm a long time Skype phone client looking to port my number to a new service. I live in Mexico and bought a US Skype number 9 years ago to make/receive calls and SMSs. I'm looking at the Zoom phone plans, and all I'm seeing are "Global Select" at $20/month and "Business Plus" at $26/month. In the forums here,  people refer to other plans "US/Canada Metered" and "US/Canada Unlimited" which are less expensive and suit my needs more, however, I can't find them on the site to sign up or read about the features. 

Are these plans still available? Where can I see them or sign up for them? Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I'm currently troubleshooting a recurring issue with Zoom Phone/Poly IP phones where SIP calls are either delayed or dropped intermittently.


Details:

  • Phones: Poly CCX 500 and Edge E300 models

  • Call path: SIP calls via Zoom Phone

  • Some calls go straight to voicemail or drop without audio

  • Other times, there's a delay before the callee hears ringing

  • My own test calls to the same numbers go through fine

  • Problem seems intermittent and inconsistent


What I've Tried:

  • Enabled logging on the phones (set to Debug)

  • Captured traffic using SPAN on switch ports

  • Collected packet captures on both sides (caller & callee)

  • Noticed TLS sessions but traffic is encrypted (can't inspect payload)

  • Confirmed phones are updated and network is stable


Ask: Has anyone run into this issue before? Any tips for:

  • Decrypting or analyzing encrypted SIP/TLS traffic?

  • Zoom Phone-specific call signaling insights?

  • Additional logs or settings I should look into on Poly devices?


Happy to provide more details if needed — I’m just trying to figure out where the issue is happening (Zoom, network, or phones). Appreciate any guidance!
