Please advise, I need to record automatically and ONLY to the local computer.

Zoom lags too much on my iMac - is there a way to download an older version of Zoom?

Is it possible that my operating system is what's causing this? If so, how can I find out which earlier version of Zoom is supported by my OS, and is there a way to download that version?

Yes, my internet is fast - I have a macbook and it works fine on there. It also works fine in the browser, however the browser doesn't give me access to all the same features as the app. I have completely wiped the computer and reinstalled everything from scratch, and zoom still lags. Doesn't matter if zoom is the only app running or if I have 5 other apps running, it still lags all the same.

The Zoom desktop app won't open at all on desktop with Windows 10. "Launch Meeting" won't open the app and I am unable to open the app from the start menu. No error message just completely non-responsive.

Things I have done:

  1. Restarted the computer multiple times
  2. Checked task manager, but Zoom wasn't running to do a force quit
  3. Completed uninstall and reinstall of Zoom several times
  4. Tried from Chrome, Edge and Firefox
  5. Checked permissions
  6. Cleared caches and temp files
  7. Checked ad blocker settings

I'm running out of ideas. Is there something I'm missing?

I have two meetings I join regularly. Each is setup in my browser as a bookmark including a coded password so I can join the meetings with a simple click. The browser invokes the Zoom application and the meetings should start. But only one of them starts properly.

Meeting A shows a video preview before I join, the starts with video and audio enabled and everything works as expected. Meeting B did that until about two weeks ago. Now meeting B does not show a video preview, only a black box. When started, both audio and video are disabled and cannot be enabled. I can see and hear others but all they see for me is a blank box.

When I try to unmute, I get a message, "The host is not allowing participates to unmute themselves." But the host has not done that. If he tries to manually unmute me, I get a popup asking for my agreement, but when I agree, nothing happens. If I try to enable video, there is no response.

Since this works properly for meeting A, I presume there is something unique about meeting B, not something wrong with my installation, but I can't guess what that could be. Meeting B works properly for all other participants. Can anyone suggest what could be wrong?

My system is running Fedora Linux 39, fully updated, and Zoom 5.17.5. I've also tried downgrading to Zoom 5.17.1 without any change in behavior. Starting directly from the Zoom app instead of using a browser link doesn't change anything. I've also tried running with both X11 and Wayland environments.

Sound

When I connect to Zoom it disables the sound of the other app I'm on. What can I do so I can hear both sounds as I've done in the past with my previous computer?

Hi all -- I am unable to install Zoom on my desktop Mac. I confirmed I'm downloading the correct version. I read through some of the other threads and allowed full disk access to Installer; however, I am unable to allow Installer access to files and folders (as suggested) -- it is grayed out. I've rebooted several times. Anyone have any ideas? I attached two screen shots -- one of the message I get when the installation fails, and one of the grayed out files and folder option. Thanks so much.

I teach with Zoom.
If I have multiple screens open and minimize my participants screen to reference other materials, it is very hard to find them again. Often I have to waste time minimize other screens and search for the tiny black box containing the minimize/maximize buttons.

Similarly, I waste time searching for the control panel even though I have "Show Control Panel" checked. Again--minimizing screens and hovering blindly until it appears. It makes the process inefficient and a little stressful.
Is there a way that the participant screen could be linked to the control panel such that (a) the control panel is always visible, (b) participants can be minimized/maximized from the control panel, and/or (c) the meeting can be linked in the toolbar at the bottom of the computer screen as a static reference?
Thank you.

Hello! I have already recorded some of my classes on Zoom to the cloud, and have shared the recordings with my students. One student asked if I could provide her with a link that has closed captioning because she's hard of hearing. IS there a way I can provide this for her, even though the class has already been recorded and saved to the cloud?
