Hi,

Since Zoom adopted it's dreadful new interface a few months ago, sometimes when I start up the program, I can't find my meetings. I have around 30 meetings set up, which I use on an ad hoc basis. All of them are reoccurring but are not set for a particular time.

Anyway, sometimes when I click on 'Meetings', they are there at the bottom, underneath the huge empty space for the calendar/scheduler I will never use. However sometimes, apparently randomly, they don't show up at all, so I have to go onto the website, login (for some reason Zoom does not allow me to stay logged in), and open the meeting that way, which takes longer and is inconvenient.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how I can solve this, or ideally go back to the classic Zoom interface, when the company understood that it was a video platform, and not a calendar service?

I've a situation where in a zoom call my mic picks up voice audio but the moment I play any music the other participants can't hear it. I can speak during that call and my voice is audible to the other participants but not the music I'm playing in the background. I usually play the music on my phone and keep it next to the laptop mic rather than share the audio in a conventional way using 'share' option.

Have tinkered with all the settings in Zoom audio video and also my HP laptop sound settings but to no avail.

Can anyone help me solve this mystery... thanks

Best headset to speak and use music at the same time?

Hi there!

I teach a lot of fitness classes on Zoom, and am looking for a better headset that will allow my clients to hear me for cueing and still hear the music.

Any recommendations?

THANKS in advance!!

The original sound for musicians is turned on at the beginning of the meeting/class that includes music in the background. During the meeting, this feature turns off on its own and searches for a different default speaker and microphone, which then disables the music for the participants. How can we stop this from happening?

Thumbs up emoji

Hi

A thumbs up emoji has appeared on my screen twice under Zoom meetings without any of the participants touching their keyboards. Does anyone know if this means we have been hacked?

Thanks.

I teach an online fitness class. Have successfully mixed my external microphone and shared computer sound for 3 years. Had to buy a new PC this month, Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows 11. Got an interface box Focusrite 2i2 to connect my microphone to my PC, as my old set up with a mixer and line-in through the head phone jack would not work with the new computer.

All runs great until about 10 minutes of the class then the microphone turns off and I get a message on Zoom that says, "microphone not detected, please reconnect."  I open audio settings, click off of the Microphone setting, then click back to it and the mike works again. Then it all happens again in another ten minutes. And on and on.

I've searched the interwebs high and low for some answer to this. So far nothing has worked. Thanks for any help!

Hey guys and girls

weve been having some nightmare issues with our fitness class streams.. At random times throughout the class the music would go from perfect digital quality to suddenly sound like it’s muffled and underwater distorted. We have all of the audio setting set perfectly for optimum sound as well so we know it’s not a settings issue and must be hardware (we think!).

So we’ve tried to go through a process of elimination to work out what the problem is.. So we’ve switched the camera to something a lot simpler (we were using a go pro and running it through a piece of hardware called a  black magic to covert the video file) and it has seemingly helped the distortion issue greatly but it still goes horrible at about the 40 minute mark of every class (which is a lot better than what it was with the other camera). So it makes me think that it may be a file size issue? Is there a limit with the size of the file you can push through zoom? Ie does the size of the broadcast you are trying to send through affect the quality or put stress on the steam? And does the loudness of the music / microphone affect the size of a file?
You will see as per the screenshot that the average file size for our sessions is 1.3gb…
Thanks for any light you may be able to shed guys.

Dave
