I just posted this commented on a more general thread Problems with the Zoom update but realized my issue is specific enough to probably be a separate post.

 

Problem details
Three times during a 30 min zoom call, camera turned off without me noticing because my mic was still working normally. Each time, my iphone pinged (even on silent) and I saw a screen asking me to give permissions for my phone camera. Can't figure out why it's switching over, zoom app is not open on my phone. I am signed into the same apple account on both devices so that explains how it's switching to my phone, but not why it did it in the first place.

 

I was typing notes so maybe I pressed a button by accident that caused the switch? But I'm not aware of any shortcuts for this, I didn't know that using the mic on my laptop and the camera on my phone at the same time was even an option.

 

Troubleshooting
I am a frequent Zoom & Discord user and have never seen this before today. I tried sitting in an empty zoom meeting for the 5-10 mins I spent writing this post to see if I could replicate the issue, but I did not experience the camera switch.

 

This morning when it happened, I always noticed my camera was off after someone stopped screensharing. It might only be happening when another participant shares their screen? When someone screen shares, zoom switches to fullscreen for me, then switches back when they stop sharing. Maybe the mac camera is disconnecting during the switch and then Zoom tries the next available camera instead? I'm not actually sure if it's a zoom issue or a mac issue, I haven't updated my MacOS or iOS in a while and looks like my Zoom version is from Jan 2024.

I'm having a problem with a MacBook Pro running Monterey OS (12.5).  When I join a meeting via the Calendar link, it opens the link in Safari and the video preview is disabled with the message when hovering mouse on video icon "Host requires participants to join with video turned off."  However, when I join the SAME meeting using the "Join a Meeting" on the Zoom App by entering the Meeting ID and Meeting Passcode, the video preview works!  The host says that she has the video option for both host and participants set to "ON".

 

Here's another interesting thing: I thought maybe it was Safari.  I found that there was an update and applied the update, restarted the MacBook Pro and tried the Calendar link.  Preview worked!  But when I tried it the second time, it stopped working and only displays the disabled video icon with the message from above.  I tried clicking on the same Calendar link using an iMac and I have NO problems seeing the preview video for the same exact meeting and Calendar link.  What is going on???

Window's task bar won't pop up when Zoom in full screen

With the new update, when I have my Zoom meeting in full screen mode, my Window's task bar won't appear when I move the curser to the very bottom of the screen.  It was never a problem before.  I have not changed my task bar settings.  It's currently at "Automatically hide the taskbar when in desktop mode."  I'd like to keep that setting so when I screen share, the task bar isn't in frame.

 

Anyone know if there is a setting in Zoom somewhere that would allow for the Window's task bar to pop up when needed instead of having to keep it open?

I want to add a google calendar invitation automatically when I create a zoom meeting. Currently, my account creates an Outlook and Yahoo invitation that users can choose from. I need to add Google too (see attached image).

I did find the link for how to create a Zoom meeting within google but that is not what I am seeking.

Appreciate any help on this.

This has never happened before.
The sound quality of the video has deteriorated a lot.

Several months ago, I attached the live streaming keys/URL no problem & I was able to start a Zoom & have the live stream stream into a Facebook group page.

 

For the last few days, I have had nothing but problems with the Zoom app, "Live Streaming." It has 2 going at once, it says it's live streaming & it's not, Facebook doesn't see it as connected & when I select custom stream it gives me a Zoom page error saying I'm just not able to. What in the world is going on? The last 2 nights I had to delete the app & reload it in & then I could stream to Facebook.

 

Today was Day 1 of my official challenge & no such luck. Errors all over the place! Embarrassing & had to use my phone for a serious live presentation, which was not seemless at all as I could not share my screen from my phone. PLEASE! I have a PAID account! How do I NOT have access to speak to someone on the phone!? I am so PISSED right now, I need some answers.

Resolved! Settings not reflected in meetings created via the API

I've set up both our main Zoom account and the sub-accounts under it with several settings, but those settings are not being reflected in meetings created in a sub account (after the setting changes were made) via the API.

 

For example: I modified the settings to always record to cloud, disable the waiting room, and allow participants to join before the host. I then created a meeting via the API and joined on one device via the join URL and then on another device via the host start URL. The host was prompted to admit the waiting participant, and the recording never started (nor did I see a way to activate recording).

The controls for managing the Live Transcript function have changed from last month.  It no longer seems possible to turn the Live Transcript off and back on during the meeting. Am I missing something here or is this no longer possible? I've started a meeting via the Windows desktop app and via FIrefox browser; appears to be the same case in both instances.
