June 17, 2024 version 6.1.0 (41135) Zoom app ability to update while application is not running https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0068823Hello! I work in IT, and we're a Microsoft shop. Many users rarely open Zoom, so Zoom doesn’t update unless users launch it for external Zoom meetings or training once in awhile and are stuck in an older version with vulnerabilities. Currently, we don’t manage Zoom installations; users have installed it themselves. I just saw that Zoom 6.1.0's changelog says it can now update even when the app isn’t running -- for the .exe package. If we deploy Zoom 6.1.0 and above using the MSI package, will it still handle auto-updates even when the app isn’t open? Also, if we set up the ADMX policies for auto-updates, do we still need to add the "ZoomAutoUpdate=1" flag during the MSI install? I’ve seen task scheduler entries Zoom Update for manual installs with versions above 6.1.0, but I can't confirm if the same applies to MSI installs. Also, would the app need to be launched at least once for the task schedule to be created? If anyone has experience with this or can point me to relevant Zoom documentation about background automatic updates, I’d be very grateful! If updates work on MSI, we plan to deploy it via Intune to all machines, as Zoom doesn’t auto-start by default and we don't mind having the app installed on all machines. But, we want to avoid manually managing minor versioning for MSI installers and stale unused apps as much as possible.
To provide a more seamless meeting experience, reducing disruptions and missed call minutes caused by forced updates before joining a meeting, the Zoom desktop app for Windows (.exe package) can push version upgrades while the app is not running for users with auto updates enabled.

Is there a way to enable realtime transcripts of meetings such that only those who opt-in see the transcript? I don't want everyone to see it (as that would be annoying to most people), but a colleague is hearing-impaired, and has asked if there's a way that he (and only he) could read what people are saying. Thoughts? Thanks so much!

While using Zoom meeting through the Mac app, I get a notification of an unstable connection, and during the meeting, the video and audio freeze temporarily. I have my internet with Starlink and connect to it via WiFi. Very annoying during client meetings.

Tried to test camera before the meeting but it is gray. I don't know how to fix it . Kindly help.
This comment isn't really social, I'm just hoping someone can suggest where to send it that might actually be noticed. Haven't been able to find a suitable bugs/enhancements forum. The zoom linux installation documentation is seriously out-of-date. We're not talking about a couple of years, try a decade or so.. . This won't matter to those generally familiar with linux; it will matter a lot to new users. Probably need fixing. I'm most familiar with Redhat-based distros. The documentation refers to yum. On Fedora, it was superseded a decade ago, more recently on other distros, but I don't think anything current uses yum. Likewise, it refers to CentOS, which is now unsupported, but not to any of the successor distros. So basically anyone using it is out-of-luck unless they know their distro is a CentOS successor. A more general issue, the documentation implies that all that's needed to update the software is to install it again. Generally, if you install an existing rpm you're at risk of losing all user settings. Some RPMs take care of this, but judging by the complexities I get even from using the 'dnf update' command and the number of *conf.rpmnew files I find after updates, there are plenty that don't. Maybe the zoom RPM does handle it, in which case it might be wise to mention it. But given this issue, maybe it would be safer to recommend users to update from within zoom. I'm guessing there are probably similar problems with the docs of debian-based distros. I do run ubuntu a bit, but on headless systems, so there's no point installing zoom (and no easy way to check whether it works).

I have a recording of a Zoom webinar - the real time duration is about 4 hours, but the converted mp4 is only 30 minutes long. At 11 mins 50 seconds into the recording the audio becomes scrambled, as if it's playing in extreme fast forward. The zoom meeting was recorded onto computer The '.zoom' file is 327 MB, the converted mp4 is 55 MB. The separate m4a audio file has the same error. I've tried reconverting the .zoom file multiple times but with the same results. During conversion an 'xcode_error' log is generated with [C1797], [C1536] and [S503] entries Can this file be recovered? Is there a 3rd party app that can read (and repair) .zoom files Any ideas on why the .zoom file became corrupt in the first place? (One theory is that attendees using OtterAI might have scrambled the recording?) Thanks for your help!

I’ve updated Zoom, have the latest hardware, tried several locations, always auto update my computer & STILL have freezing, delayed & garbled speech. Any suggestions?
It is possible to change the double-tap to the eraser tool, but
I can't set anything for the zoom function with the squeeze. What do you all set?
ダブルタップ→消しゴムツールへの変更は可能ですが、
