WebGL Context Limit Reached When Rendering Multiple Participant Videos Using Zoom Video SDK (React +

Dear Zoom Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

We are currently implementing a group video experience using the Zoom Video SDK (version @zoom/videosdk 2.3.0) in a React.js (TypeScript) application. As part of our requirement, we aim to render up to 12 participant video streams simultaneously on the screen.

However, we are encountering a critical issue once the number of participants increases during the session. Specifically, when the 5th or 6th participant joins, the previously rendered participant videos begin to flicker intermittently. At the same time, the browser console repeatedly logs the following warning:

“WARNING: Too many active WebGL contexts. Oldest context will be lost.”

After this warning begins appearing, some of the video streams flicker, freeze, or turn blank. Based on our analysis, this behavior seems related to the SDK creating individual WebGL contexts for each video element, eventually exceeding the browser’s maximum allowed number of active WebGL contexts.

To help us resolve this issue, we would appreciate guidance on the following:

  1. Is this a known limitation of the Zoom Video SDK (v2.3.0) when rendering multiple web video streams?

  2. Are there any recommended best practices for managing or reducing WebGL context usage in multi-participant scenarios?

  3. Does Zoom offer documentation or examples for implementing a single-canvas or multi-stream rendering approach to prevent exceeding the WebGL context limit?

  4. Are there any configuration options or optimizations within the SDK that can help mitigate this issue?

This problem significantly affects our group session experience and video reliability, so any support or recommendations from your team would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards,
Jatin Chaudhari

So, Zoom has now added Autoframe for your video source, but we still don't seem to have ordinary Zoom software/settings for manual Resize/Pan/ReFrame  of  the video image.

This facility, which users have been asking for since Zoom started, is still missing.

Yes, on a PC/Mac, yes you can use OBS to pre-process the camera/video image, then use your virtual camera in Zoom.

Yes, on a Mac, you can use iGlasses from ECAMM to pre-process the camera/video image, then use your virtual camera in Zoom.

On the iPad and other tablets/phones there's nothing to do this 'live camera/video Resize/Pan/ReFrame postprocessing'.

If you can do some fancy image shifting with 'Autoframe', then come on Zoom, give us a simple camer/video feed Resize/Pan/ReFrame control for ourselves!

I have been using Zoom for 1 on 1 meetings with my students for the last 2 years on my all in 1 PC desktop. I do not have external speakers nor an external mic. There is no one else in my office so no other computers or speakers near me. I use the original sound for musicians and no noise cancelations since I need to make sure we both can hear softer sounds such as /k/ and /th/. Everything has been smooth up until a few weeks ago when my voice started echoing like crazy. My students can't hear it on their end, and they don't echo, only I do ( on my computer only). I have updated drivers, used head phones, played around with mic and speaker volume , as well as played around with some of the zoom sound options... nothing has helped....... any suggestions?

Our organization has been using Zoom for several year, but now it's getting more and more difficult to use. The people who want to join a meeting have had difficultly with their existing Zoom app. Sometimes, they are given a message that Zoom must update before they can join the meeting. After the update, they are asked for a lot of information that was never requested previously. It appears the Zoom update gives them a Zoom Workplace account. When you search for a link to download the basic Zoom meeting app, the Knowledge Base says to go to the iOS App Store and search for Zoom - One Platform to Connect. There is no such app in the iOS App Store.  😠 Other links on the Zoom web site to download the Zoom app take you to downloads for Zoom Workplace. Our people don't want to join the Zoom Workplace. We just want to have basic meetings. Our organization has the Zoom One Pro plan, but most of our members have been using the free Zoom meeting app.

Please help us navigate through the Zoom waters to continue using Zoom for meetings, NOT Zoom Workplace. Where do you download the Zoom meeting app for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android? Don't send me to the Knowledge Base. Those links are all for Zoom Workplace. I've tried them; I know!

Is there any keyboard shortcut for "clear all drawings", while doing annotations in a meeting? In the zoom client in Windows, or other supported OSs? I find none documented in the UI, or in the online help (looked at the help for Win, Mac, and Linux), or indeed in googling more widely.

(One blogger showed some including a command-shift-c, which would seem a MacOS shortcut. I could not get any combination of ctrl and/or alt and/or shift and c to do that on Windows--on the latest zoom client.)

If it's not possible, might anyone from Zoom be able to chime in on whether it might ever be considered? or where best should such a request be made? Thanks.

Hello Zoom Team,

I’d like to request a much-needed enhancement to Zoom’s transcript feature that would significantly improve usability and avoid lost content—especially for co-hosts and participants who rely on transcripts for meeting documentation, note-taking, or compliance.

Feature Request:

Please add a Zoom setting or transcript app enhancement that enables auto-saving of the meeting transcript to a user-defined file path (e.g., local drive, OneDrive, or network folder).

This would eliminate the need to manually click “Save Transcript” at the end of every meeting.

Why this matters:

  1. Transcripts are often lost when another host ends the meeting before I have a chance to hit "Save."

  2. Sometimes the transcript panel gets hidden or closed, and I simply forget to reopen it to save before leaving the meeting.

  3. In multi-host meetings or high-stress environments, it’s easy to miss the manual save step.

  4. Having a simple option like:
    Auto-save transcript to: [file path]
would solve this entirely and align with the behavior of auto-recording.

Suggested Implementation:

  • Checkbox setting: “Auto-save transcript at end of meeting”

  • Optional storage path: Select default folder for saved transcripts (similar to the setting for auto-recording storage).

  • Enable for hosts, co-hosts, and even participants (when allowed).

Pretty Please with All the Cherries on Top... I beg you.

I find the live transcipt feature very useful during our calls. I don't usually make an audio recording of calls.

But when the conversation is finished, I usually have to wait until everybody has signed out and then shuffle about to find the transcript,  then open it, then view it in folder and then save it in a relevant directory on my computer.  If I exit the call myself as the host, there does not seem to be way to find the transcript.

My method seems clumsy and wasteful. Is there a better/faster way to do this and can I do it after the call is completed.

TIA
