Hi there,

I use Zoom for teaching, and prefer the functionality of the Whiteboard that is embedded within the "Share Screen" function (rather than using the whiteboard button). I access this through Share Screen -> Whiteboard whenver I have a meeting.

The teaching I do involves graphs. I often have to draw axes, for example. Recently - but not previously, so perhaps as a result of an update - I have encountered a problem when looking to extend or move straight lines. I hold down the SHIFT key to ensure the lines I draw are exactly horizontal or vertical and, once drawn, I sometimes need to extend these or move them around the whiteboard. When I do this, the line completely disappears, meaning I cannot see where I am moving it to, or whether I have indeed selected the line at all. This doesn't appear to happen when I do not hold down the SHIFT key. Sometimes the line have draw is duplicated, rather than disappears.

Does anyone have a solution to this? I have updated Zoom, and reinstalled. My software is up-to-date.

my friend gave me access to her Zoom page so I can start a meeting if she is going to be late. I also have a Zoom page. However, when I sign in to Zoom using her meeting ID, I always come up as her instead of signing in as me.

Other members of our group use her private meeting ID but sign in as themselves. I need to sign in as me  as a participant and not the host. Can you help Please!

I recorded a meeting between myself and two other participants.  We are doing this for a final in a class for graduate school.  The meeting was recorded, and once over it automatically converted the file.  Once it was complete, I saved it under her name on my desktop to be able to email them to each other to send in for our final grade.  I can't open any of the meetings now, and when I got one to open it only played the audio part of the meeting.  Can anyone please help??

I am using Microsoft Remote Desktop on Mac (both with most up to date software) to access an Azure Virtual Desktop  for Windows 10, and when using Zoom the camera does not work (same result for Facetime camera or my external Logitech Brio) when running the Zoom App.  It does work if I use the web app.  How can I get the camera to work within the Zoom app and not via web browser?

Thank you,

I have freezing happening.  For the first few seconds of a meeting all is well.  Then all the pictures freeze.  Note:

  • apparently MY picture is not freezing for others
  • if someone shares a screen, I can see it no issue.
  • Internet connection:  This happens at both my home and business offices, and this is the ONLY problem I am having.   I have had both internet connections checked and there is no issue with either.
  • Close unnecessary applications and tabs: This happens even if zoom is the ONLY thing open on the computer.
  • Update brower/system: regularly
  • Update zoom app: I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times.  The first meeting after a reinstallation sometimes will work.
  • I am in Chrome but not on a Chromebook.
  • I cannot figure out where to find the 'video settings'.  I have tried to follow the directions to my account, settings, etc etc.  Video settings is not an option.

Wayland screen sharing broken on high-res (beyond 1080p) displays

I am on Fedora 36 using Zoom 5.11.9, using GNOME under Wayland. Normally I perform most of my work on an ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor. When I attempt a screenshare from this resolution, it appears that most, if not all people in the call (who are likely probably running at 1920x1080 or 1200) aren't able to see my screen. From the attachment, my screen appears distorted in the eyes of others in the room. I have noticed that if I scale my resolution down to 1920x1080 (which is my laptop displays' native resolution), my screen appears just fine. So I'm going to rule this down to Wayland and resolutions beyond 1920x1080 (or 1200).

If I run an X11 session, I notice that the screenshare scales down to fit 1080p monitors, but is otherwise perfectly visible. This is sort of the behavior I was hoping for under Wayland as well.

If it matters - I am connected to the external monitor via DisplayPort. I've tried setting the refresh rate to 60 or 100 hz, but that had no effect.

I want to send this as feedback and a feature request to Zoom but I see no expedient way to do that even though I have feedback enabled.

FEATURE: I want to share a video with audio with a colleague that is three hours long. But, I do not want to hear the video! I want him (or how ever many people are in the audience) to hear the audio but I dont want to have to listen. Currently, Zoom requires that my computer is playing the audio while streaming the video. I want to be able to do other work while the video is running and not have to listen to the lecture for three hours. I hope zoom will implement a way to stream audio/video without having to listen to it myself. Thank you
