I think it is unbelievably lame that every time you want to share high quality music in stereo you have to pull down that almost invisible carat and switch from mono to stereo, even though all the settings on my client are preset to stereo and hifi.  Very hard to remember this additional step, and in my organization we have a lot of non technical people leading events with music who keep missing this step.  I'm a tech and I keep missing it myself! Come on, Zoom, what are you thinking?  Default should obviously be stereo if you've already set up client for stereo hifi!

Displaying the actual meeting name on the top of the screen can be a useful feature to help ensure that participants are in the correct meeting. This can be implemented by adding a label or text field to the user interface and populating it with the appropriate information, such as the meeting name or conference room name, before or during the call. The exact implementation would depend on the specific technology or platform being used for the meetings.

I have 3 different people who use iPads connecting to our religious meetings who all have had a black screen on speaker view. Two of these seem to have cleared up for some reason, one is still having the issue.  No idea why.  He sees himself in the corner, like normal.  If he switches to Gallery View he sees the active speaker, but switching back to Speaker View yields a black screen.  It does show the name of the expected speaker in the corner. All 3 of these people have different iPad models, they're all up to date.  Our meetings typically have about 60+ participants. We use a Waiting Room to start. We don't Spotlight speakers.  Anybody had this issue and figure out a solution?

In a free version I could easily give my students a mouse control for them to do dif tasks. Yesterday I bought an annual pro subscription and that useful feature just disappeared 😞 Though it was the ONLY reason I actually chose zoom over lots of other options. There's 'slide control' now--a student can move a mouse cursor but can't click, or anything. I've looked through all the settings and recommended solutions and can't find how to solve it. Where is the 'remote control' I have to use according to instructions?

Hello, I have tried to install Zoom on my Desktop; however, after it shows the installation bar, Zoom closes out and is no longer open. I have tried uninstalling it normally, using the CleanZoom.exe, and installing it with Administrative privileges, disabling my Anti-Virus, clearing cache and all that. However, nothing changes.

I am assuming something failed in the actual installation since I can see errors in the installer.txt file inside %APPDATA%/Zoom . I am on Windows 11 Pro version 10.0.22631 Build 22631

During our meetings we commonly have speakers scheduled for a certain amount of time, e.g. 10 minutes. Some speakers just start riffing...

If I'm the meeting host, I keep the speakers on time through a different messaging service, e.g. Slack, so there is zero possibility of my activities affecting the session, my participation, the speaker's participation, or any chat logs. But that's awkward. When it's a short presentation, I have to send timer messages just minutes after they get started. The Zoom Timer app is either useful to only me or absolutely everybody. That's no good. (Also, why is it not smart enough to work with "Mirror My Video"?)

In a perfect world, with a perfect timer app:

  1. I set an overall meeting timer of, say, 60 minutes, subdivided into me (2), Alice (15), me (1), Bob (10), me (1), Chad (15), me (1), and overall Q&A (whatever remains as "flexible" time)? The timer should also show the overall meeting elapsed/remaining. The timer is in a detachable pane that can be "pinned" as always visible on top of all other apps and has a tiny messaging service visible only to the others I've blessed with the timer. When I share my entire screen, the timer isn't shared.
  2. When I press start, it starts my two-minute segment, only visible to me. I am of course, perfectly on time.
  3. When it's Alice's turn, I start her 15 minute timer which is now visible/audible only to her and me (the host). It visibly nags her as she runs down the clock. She runs two minutes over as interest is high. The timer has been blinking red. I've even pressed the magic button that brings it to the top of her apps so I know it's visible. That overtime is subtracted from overall Q&A.
  4. When she's done, I start my one minute to intro Bob. The timer is once again only visible to me. Again, I'm supremely awesome with my time.
  5. I start Bob. He does his thing. Awkwardly, nobody has questions for him, so he ends in seven minutes. The "bonus" three minutes is added to the overall Q&A.
  6. When he's done, I start my one minute to intro Chad. The timer is once again only visible to me. Again, I'm supremely awesome with my time.
  7. I start Chad, who's a bit of a knob. He takes up 21 minutes despite the blinking red timer on only his and my screens. I've even messaged him through the timer in a way that doesn't show up in the meeting's main chat logs (but does show up in my host logs as a separate file). The overtime is subtracted from the overall Q&A.
  8. Wrestling the mic away from Chad, I am, once again, the only person who can see the timer. I do my wrap-up schtick in one minute while wondering who invited Chad in the first place.
  9. I start the overall Q&A with whatever time is remaining.
  10. The meeting ends on time and everyone walks away happy.

I know what you're thinking: Cool story, bro. But has someone out there made the Zoom timer app of my dreams?
