Hey All,

 

There's been previous posts with this question with no answer that I could find - still getting this error on the newest Zoom plug-in, 5.14.10.876. This is happening only about 10% of the time and will reset the description back to default. We've seen this both while updating a meeting description after it's created, and even when opening an existing meeting, not making any changes, then closing. Need to get a fix going for this, I look forward to what people think!

I’ve noticed that if we are updating a Zoom meeting request, Zoom automatically reverts to its initial default setting, regardless of the information we had previously included in that meeting request. it gives a pop-up that says "the event descripti... Show more

I’ve noticed that if we are updating a Zoom meeting request, Zoom automatically reverts to its initial default setting, regardless of the information we had previously included in that meeting request. it gives a pop-up that says "the event description will be replaced with the zoom default invitation. Your previous event description will be copied to the clipboard"

Question about a feature in a meeting with the camera

I'm a teacher who uses Zoom for weekly classes. My students are in high school and have a high-school sense of humor. Which is fine, but can get inappropriate at times. I'd love to see the following features added to the Chat within meetings:
1) The ability for the Host/CoHost to delete comments or chats made that they deem inappropriate.

2) The ability for the Host/CoHost to stop one participant from the ability to write in chat, without kicking them out of the meeting altogether.

 

These would really help me moderate student behavior, without making a student miss a lesson.

Ive followed every link - turned on every toggle - given myself user permission but still there is no translate option next to the captions button

  2. Under Captions and translation, enable Translation, and select the language you want the captions translated to.
    Next to the Show Caption button, click the up

mine says CAPTIONS but no TRANSLATE, even though ive been into user management and clicked that and ive been into advanced settings and done as prescribed. anyone else have that issue ?

I have purchased the translated caption add-on and made a test to see how it functions. Unfortunately, the quality was not the expected one. One cannot really understand nor follow what is being said. Both host and user had the updated version of Zoom (6.2.0), and we were both on desktops. We were speaking in English and enabled the translated caption to Spanish. It was difficult to follow the translation, with many errors and the speed was also very quick. The AI starts translating literally but as the phrase is developing, it might propose a word, and then change it on the way because it doesn't fit well with the whole phrase. Meanwhile, the whole phrase is over and the next one starts so things get mixed up. I have a video to exemplify this if needed.

zoom thinks my computer's timezone is CST

I've checked desktop and system settings, and also zoom time settings. Zoom continues to give me reminders a whole hour before. Somewhere Zoom thinks and reminds me of appointments a whole hour earlier than actual. How do I fix this. I've done all th... Show more

I've checked desktop and system settings, and also zoom time settings.  Zoom continues to give me reminders a whole hour before.  Somewhere Zoom thinks and reminds me of appointments a whole hour earlier than actual. 

 

How do I fix this.  I've done all the obvious fixes, need next level suggestions.

 

Version: 6.1.12 (46889)

No error, it's picking up the time incorrectly somewhere.

I've gone to zoom timezone and verified that it's EST

Keeps updating same version every time I sign on

Every time I open Zoom after shutting down my PC, I have to update the software. Its the same every time. It takes me back to 5 something and updates me to 6 something. I have logged onto the automatic update section of device management / Zoom web p... Show more

Every time I open Zoom after shutting down my PC, I have to update the software. Its the same every time. It takes me back to 5 something and updates me to 6 something. I have logged onto the automatic update section of device management / Zoom web portal but both auto settings are switched off already. I also tried to make zoom an exception on my anti-virus but no joy. Its been happening for months, possibly a year and means I have to wait for a re-load every time I want to use the app. Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance 🙂 ( I have windows 360/5 ? not tech savvy I am afraid!)

How can I see what Zoom versions I have had installed, that is, my version history?  Why?  Because I was involuntarily recently "upgraded" to 5.6.6.880 which when running caused my Windows 10 computer not to work well--a bad version for me.  I want to go back to a version when Zoom was working adequately, if that is even going to be possible--anyone?  If it is not possible to go back to a working version, then this question is moot.  Rather I will simply have to keep installing newer versions until one hopefully works well (well enough).  Please advise.

I cannot log into my Zoom account using the Firefox browser

First, trying to even make this comment was blocked because I had to select a "Board" in which to post it.

But, my issue concerns logging into my account....for which NONE of the boards listed were appropriate.
So, Zoom has forced me to select an incorrect board to begin with.

While I can log into my Zoom account normally using the Chrome and Edge browsers....I cannot log in using the Firefox Browser.

When I reached out to Zoom, I was forced to use their "chat support", which could not break out of its circular logic.  As a result, none of the prompts it offered me were even nearly correct and I could not force it to break the cycle and create a new issue.

That said, it is obvious that changes within "either" Firefox or Zoom have broken the ability of Firefox users to log into Zoom accounts.
The suggestion "Use Chrome" or "Use Edge" is unacceptable, as I Choose to use Firefox and will not be told how to use my computer.

I expect Zoom support to work with the folks behind Firefox to resolve this issue

Sadly, I did open ticket TS1459185, but cannot check the status of that ticket because of the limits Zoom places on their support.

This is extremely annoying
