Since the latest ZOOM update in the past week, I have been unable to use ZOOM because the video is both freezing and scrambling, an issue that I have never previously encountered. The video is working perfectly on other platforms, so I can only conclude that this is a ZOOM issue.

I have disabled 'use hardware acceleration' and this did not work and I have sufficient RAM and computing power on my laptop, so I know it is not a hardware issue.

I run my business via ZOOM and have a paid account, and I have had to find other solutions to keep my business flowing. Does anyone have a solution or is this a ZOOM issue, and if so does anyone know when it will be resolved?

I take part in a weekly zoom meeting hosted by another person.  The first meeting of the year was January 11th.  When I tuned in to the meeting, I could see everyone else, but my square was black.  They could not see me either. (The video was definitely turned on).  We could all hear each other, so I was able to participate, but it's not as nice as being able to see each other.

After the meeting on the 11th, I looked up ideas of what could be wrong on the zoom website.  I have tried re-booting the computer and checked to make sure my computer camera is working (it is).  I do not think we have a security system running on the computer that could be blocking this.

We actually hosted a (one time) zoom meeting on December 28 to celebrate Christmas long distance with someone, and our zoom video worked perfectly then, just 2 weeks earlier.

The zoom meeting I attend met again on January 18.  I tuned in, and again, my screen square was black 😞

Is there some kind of update that happened at the first of the year that I missed for zoom?

I would be so grateful if anyone could help me figure out what to do.

Hi,

When I click on the Zoom link for a meeting in the future for which I am a host, sometimes I get a pop-up window that says the date and time of the meeting. This is helpful, because I can confirm the Zoom meeting is scheduled for the correct time. However, most of the time there is no such pop up. Does anyone know how can ensure meeting hosts will get this pop up?

Thanks!

Hello.

I shut down my computer every night after work and each day when I open up Zoom, I always get the update pop up below every time. Is Zoom making updates every day to the program that this is normal? This gets annoying when I'm trying to attend or set up a meeting and it takes up to 5 minutes before this update is completed. If this is not normal, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

The only audio available to host and client is dial in.

In all the years Ive been working on Zoom, I've never used this feature ever.

I hadnt touched any settings. It appears to have just suddenly happened1

As well, a few days ago, these dial in settings started showing up in my meeting links.

I've ploughed through all the meeting settings and everything looks good.

I just cant work out what's going on? And am cancelling one appointment after the other.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a Synology RT6600ax router with "Threat Prevention".  When a Silversneakers zoom meeting is started on a Samsung Galaxy S10 Android phone, I get a LOT of events generated.  There are 2 kinds of events:

  1. SQL probe response overflow attempt (hundreds of these)I don't know why something for SQL should be sent to the phone.  I presume this is a false positive. I allow this event to occur.  If I don't, the video seems to "hang", probably due to the sheer volume of these events hitting the router and overloading the router.  Do you think I am right in allowing this event?

       2. Possible KEYPLUG/Downadup/Conficker-C P2P encrypted traffic UDP Ping Packet (bit value 4)

I presume this is getting confused because zoom is doing a P2P protocol and is encrypting UDP packets.

I only get one of these events and I believe it happens RIGHT after I allow the SQL events.

I don't allow this P2P event and it doesn't seem to stop the meeting, but should I allow this one?

Thanks for any clarification on this.

Also, when using this on the phone, what ports and IP addresses are used?

Joining a meeting shows just one participant (me). Any ideas?

Problem occurs both on Linux and on Chromebook. Unable to see or hear other participants. Foot of window shows just one participant.
