What can I do to fix this problem? After I click to start new meeting and turn on my video, I can see everything fine, but after 5 seconds, all that turns freezes and yellow color floods over everything. The video becomes useless. Is there a simple fix? I already tried restarting; but that did not help. I guess the next thing to do would be to uninstall and reinstall the newest version. Any suggestions? Please advise. Thanks.

Can I appoint someone else to launch a meeting?

Is it possible to appoint someone else to launch a meeting I have scheduled?

An empty folder created in Ubuntu

I am a zoom user and my computer runs Ubuntu.  From version 5.10 (5.10.3.2778) through the current version (5.11.3.3382), I've been having one problem (which is serious to me).

When zoom starts, my home folder gets an empty folder called "Downloads" created.

My home folder is custom-managed and I do not want an extra empty folder in it.

So, this is preventing me from using versions 5.10 through 5.11.  Instead I am using 5.9, which does not have this problem.

As technical info, please note that I use customized XDG user directories so that I don't have folders such as "Documents" or "Downloads" scattered in my home folder.    (And I use a custom local Zoom recordings folder as well.)   To the point of this discussion, my XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR is not set to $HOME/Downloads (the default value).

To illustrate this issue further, the same problem ("Downloads" folder created in the home folder) occurs even if I run zoom using the following command.

$ XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=/tmp zoom

In short, I do not want an extra folder "Downloads" created in my folder.   If this is a "bug" introduced since version 5.10, please make it go away.

I have a client with a setup for classes in their Gym that has a PTZ cam that is setup to use NDI because of the distance from the camera and the PC.  I am using OBS with the virtual camera plugin to support the NDI to the PTZ camera.  This works most of the time but occasionally when they try to start a new zoom session the video that is seen is static image of the end of the previous session.   I reboot of the pc seems to solve this but sometime they have multiple sessions with only a few minutes in between and a reboot causes delays.  Trying to find out why this is happening and how to prevent it from happening.  Another work around they have been using is to share their screen in zoom and pull up the OBS window and clink on the live view of the NDI camera.  This works  in a pinch but it is showing other parts of the screen they don't want or need to display.  This is being used for exercise classes so they only need the camera view.

Hi, I was having a problem with people accessing/receiving confirmation emails for a registered meeting I have set up. To combat this I have changed the meeting type back to public, so I can easily send the link out. Do you know if the meeting link will stay the same and those who have already registered will be able to access the meeting using the details from the confirmation email or does the link change!?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is there a way of removing and blocking ONE participant from a meeting without having to lock the entire meeting?

I am a professor and, occasionally, a student may become disruptive. Is there a way to remove the student, block them from returning to the meeting without having to lock the entire meeting? Locking the meeting would prevent other students from joining. I simply want to remove and block one particular student.

Thanks for help.

Hi everyone.  I have the basic free subscription.  I scheduled a Zoom for 2 other people and I will not be joining.  I just want to ensure that the meeting will NOT be limited to 40 mins since only those 2 people are in the meeting.  I guess I want to ensure that Zoom will not consider me a 3rd participant since I am technically the host.  Thanks.
