I am curious if there is an option or setting to allow the host to force a participant into a break-out room? I believe that when break-out rooms are created and opened, participants need to 'join' their assigned room (or there's an option to join a room of their choice).  However, can someone be moved into a breakout room without them needing to select 'join'?

Is support still ignoring this issue and refusing to let us revert back to a version of Zoom that actually works? Why am I paying a monthly fee for software that breaks with the latest updates? The device works in literally every other piece of software except Zoom. This isn't the first time this has happened.

I've attached a screen shot to show how badly Zoom is broken.

Deleted recorded session

Hi, I have deleted the recordings and emptied the trash yesterday. Is it still possible to get the recordings from somewhere? Does Zoom not save anything in their data?

I'm having trouble signing in using Zoom Cloud Meetings 5.16.6 (382) for Linux.  If I sign in with SSO, I am prompted to log in using my browser, and then the Zoom Cloud Meetings client says "Connecting...".  After ~30 seconds, the Zoom client goes back to the login screen and displays "Timeout".

Recording of problem

I use a proxy, which is configured in the Zoom client.  I have tried various combinations, including manually configuring.

Looking at the connections that are being made by zoom, I see:

~ $ cat /tmp/strace | fgrep connect | fgrep htons 11:53:57
433620 connect(93, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(80), sin_addr=inet_addr("136.226.18.24")}, 16 <unfinished ...>
433620 connect(93, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(80), sin_addr=inet_addr("136.226.12.24")}, 16 <unfinished ...>
433619 connect(93, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(80), sin_addr=inet_addr("136.226.18.24")}, 16 <unfinished ...>
433681 connect(110, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(80), sin_addr=inet_addr("192.229.211.108")}, 16 <unfinished ...>

136.226.12.24 is our proxy.  129.229.211.108 appears to be part of the edge cast CDN.  So, Zoom appears to be connecting to this address without using the specified proxy.  I can't be sure that this is the cause of the timeout, but it is the best explanation I have at the moment.

Is anyone able to login on Linux with a proxy?

Thanks,

Edward

Ich habe ein MacBook Pro 2021 (Chip: Apple M1 Max), und Ventura 13.2

Was kann ich noch tun?

This might be a basic question but to avoid confusion I thought I would ask.

I used to have an upgraded account. I never paid attention to time limits. Now that I meet in person I am back to the FREE account. I booked a meeting for 2hrs which Zoom allowed me to book on my free account.  There will be multiple people in the meeting (not a 1:1 meeting). Will it kick me out after 40mins even though it allowed me to book a 2hr meeting? I just need to know if I should pay for a 1 month license for the meeting OR since it is not 1:1 can I extend past the 40mins?

Cheers,

tc

Trash the Zoom.pkg?

I installed Zoom on Mac mini M2. The zoom.pkg remains on the desktop after installation. When I send it to the trash, it effectively makes Zoom unavailable.

What is the appropriate way to deal with, or, the proper place to keep the zoom.pkg?

Hi, I teach singing over zoom. I use a Focusrite Scarlett with my SM7B microphone with a MacOS 10.15.7. Every so often, maybe 30-45 minutes in to an hour lesson, there is a problem with the audio. It seems to timeout. I cannot hear anything, and my student gets a 'feedback loop' - a clip of a second audio repeating over and over. There's nothing either of us can do to stop it except end the meeting and restart, or wait for 1-2 minutes for it to stop. At this point, I get a notification that zoom is no longer using the Scarlett for audio but my built in output. Then immediately is connects again to the Scarlett and it all works fine.

It stopped happening when I upgraded to premium zoom a few months ago but is now back with a vengeance.

Please help! It's so unprofessional. Thanks.

My MAC Studio is only one month old.  When using Zoom for my business, an audio and video glitch happened after 20 minutes.  I record the meeting and allow my clients to record the coaching session.  When the Zoom session is at the 20 min mark, the screen freezes and a one second portion of whoever was talking at that moment is turned into a nonstop loop.  I contacted Zoom Support and after much problem solving, they said it was a server issue on their end.  My Zoom sessions worked for 30 minutes the following day and then exhibited the same problem.  I contacted Apple Support.  We uninstalled and reinstalled Zoom on the MAC Studio.  We tested a meeting then the problems happened again at 20 minute mark.  Cannot resolve.  My assistant signed in on my machine and is testing a meeting on my MAC and connecting to someone else's MacBook.  Both Host and Participant are recording.  Past 20 minute mark...no problem.  Feels like a software issue.  HELP
