Apologies if this has been asked a lot - I didn't know what to search for.

Our Licences are:  Zoom One Business and Zoom Events.

We're trying to get started on Zoom Webinars and want users to register but don't want them to have to enter One Time Passwords (OTP).

Recently I attended a Webinar that looked like what we wanted. The people who arranged it sent an invite message to me. I forwarded it to some of my colleagues. We all registered. When the meeting started it said "If you are the meeting host, sign in to start the meeting XXX XXXX XXXX" and "I'm not the meeting host: Join Meeting as an Attendee".

When I signed in, it asked for a code that was already on the invite. I suspect that everyone might have gotten the same code (not sure?).

It was a normal event - where I was just a listener and the other organization had three speakers.

Can someone please tell me which license they were probably using (I'm guessing Zoom Events?) and can you please point me in the direction of the Registration options.  We've been looking at Registration options and have been told by Zoom that it's not possible but clearly it is... so I think we're using the wrong words to ask for what we need.

Thanks.

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. We are in the process of integrating Zoom into our website portal to facilitate our Online Meetings (1 to 1) functionality for our participants, and we seek your expertise to address some specific queries.

Outlined below are our concerns:

  1. Calendar Integration for Date and Breakout Room Selection:

    • We envision providing our users with the option to select dates and time slots for their online meetings through a calendar interface. Can Zoom facilitate this feature seamlessly within our website portal?
  2. Automated Zoom Links Distribution:

    • Upon selecting a date and time slot, we aim to automate the process of sending Zoom meeting links to our users via email. Is it possible to configure Zoom to generate and distribute meeting links automatically based on user selections?
  3. Meeting Recording Capability:

    • An essential requirement for us is the ability to record all meetings conducted through our portal. Does Zoom offer robust recording functionalities that we can integrate seamlessly into our platform?

In addition to these questions, we are also interested in exploring how Zoom's breakout room feature can be leveraged to enhance the overall user experience and functionality of our Online Meetings.

We would greatly appreciate your insights, recommendations, and technical guidance on how best to address these requirements and integrate Zoom effectively with our website portal.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to your prompt response.

Best regards, [Your Name]

A client of mine that I worked with recently was a postgraduate-only school and was well-known globally for its advanced research, modern facilities, and excellent science, technology, and management programs. When the pandemic started back then, they quickly switched to using Zoom for remote teaching. But this was just the start of their creative use of the platform.

The School Director decided to do it in two ways through Zoom Events. One was to make online classes feel like real classrooms. The other was to use it for marketing and teaching in a more engaging way. The reception was a success as students and teachers liked the ideas.

By using production studio, the school found new ways to engage students and others online. Teachers could bring in guest speakers and do special lectures, making learning more interesting. They organized many events like conferences, classes, and community gatherings, all helping to improve the school's reputation and reach more people.

In the future, they wanted to do even more and aimed to make online events even better and more engaging. This would likely lead to more important events at the university being held online using Zoom, setting a new standard for how universities connect with people across the globe.

We have licences for Zoom meetings and Zoom events. We have reocrded meetings for our zoom event and clicked on Simulive to add the video to our event. The video is unavailable and cannot be uploaded via events.

Is there another way to add our videos to automatically play at a set time, or is there a way of making sure our zoom events platform and zoom meeting platforms are connected and using the same cloud?

Hello,

We are trying to improve the accuracy of the transcript/Closed-captions for our students at the community college I work at.  We are hoping to find a way that the instructors (hosts) do not need to go in and edit the captions themselves. We have noticed that although DSPS captioners and interpreters can become a cohost, they cannot go in and edit the transcript once class has concluded. It would be great if the instructors could have support from others to go in and edit captions to ensure they are accurate. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

As a part of the development of research culture  a handout was made of the use of the software (with screenshots of it) and it is intended to be posted on an open web page without lucrative intent.

Transforming Education: Empowering Educators, Enhancing Outcomes

It was an ordinary day when I reconnected with one of my Education Vertical accounts after a long hiatus, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding sessions I've had. Why? Because since our last discussion about industry trends a year ago, they've significantly enhanced student outcomes by upgrading their technology stack. The Zoom improvement gave them a flexible platform that supports various teaching modalities while also aiding in community and emergency communications during remote work. Additionally, we delved into the concept of "toggle tax," which amounts to roughly 1200 interruptions per day. That's 4 hours a week, 5 working weeks a year. A very substantial loss in productivity!

Despite operating under their old licensing structure, our conversation led us to explore the benefits of migrating to Zoom One for Education. The move made perfect sense, as it offered more features for a lower cost. With this transition on the way, this will empower their educators more to excel in their roles, enabling them to teach, learn, organize, meet, chat, talk, and collaborate—all within a single platform.

Zoom Team Chat allows free and paid users to streamline communications between team members and external Zoom users. With Zoom Team Chat, you can:

  • Send messages quickly to contacts, groups, or entire channels. Quickly find contacts, messages, and files, keeping knowledge and information at your fingertips.
  • Organize what’s most important by using starred chats, folders, and customized notifications to help you filter out the noise.
  • Send text, audio, and video messages, as well as share files, emojis, screenshots, and more.

Despite possessing these capabilities, some Zoom customers remain unaware of this product or continue to pay for services elsewhere. Therefore, I was delighted when a customer reached out to inquire about Zoom Team Chat.

Upon demonstrating the functionality and features of Team Chat to the account's IT coordinator, he expressed satisfaction and immediately inquired about transitioning from Slack (50 users) to Team Chat but with a bit of hesitation because this task could be very tedious.

Fortunately, we now have the Team Chat Migration app (Slack migration tool)! This is a self-service tool in the Zoom App Marketplace that provides end-to-end (E2E) migration of Slack chat history and data for users migrating from Slack to Zoom Team Chat. This tool can help users migrate Slack data and consolidate multiple Slack Workspaces into one Zoom account.

This app is designed to migrate:

  • Public and private channel messaging along with channel ownership and membership
  • Direct messages and group chat messaging
  • Chat history messages, reactions, links, files, emojis, and more associated with all of the above conversations up to 1 year at a time.

Following this, I arranged another meeting with the administrator to discuss their specific use case, migration process using the app (including steps, prerequisites, timeline, and required resources), as well as their expectations. I promptly addressed his follow-up inquiries, and the subsequent email I received was an update on the successful migration process.🤗

Interested in transitioning from Slack to Team Chat? Below are the resources utilized during the migration and the customer’s feedback:

The migration process:

“Integration of any data can be a headache, but the Team Chat migration tool made everything seamless and stress free”

“The migration process was very straightforward… Zoom offered a lot of support to make the migration seamless”

“We ran the migration job and it was completed in just a few hours…good to know how quickly that all happened.”

Zoom vs Slack experience

“We migrated from Slack to Zoom Team Chat t consolidate all of our communication needs into one platform. Zoom Team Chat has been exactly what we were hoping for when moving off of Slack. Our employees are loving Team Chat because it shows if a fellow worker is available, in a meeting, or in a calendar event. We also like how it allows you to group channels into a folder to make the sidebar more organized."
