On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Resolved! Calling a user's extension to go straight to their voicemail

How do I dial a user's extension so that my call goes directly to their voicemail; I do not want their phone to ring at all.

This will be used for after-hours IT notifications and do not want to disturb the end users.

We are a company that is moving each of our locations to Zoom phones, location by location. It will be an environment of locations still on the old PBX, and some on Zoom until all stores are migrated. The stores will need to be able to use a speed dial in order to quickly reach each location. Is there a way for a desk phone to be programed for a prefix speed dial? Example, the prefix could be something like *0 - and then whatever 3 digits are dialed next after that *0 speed dial is created would correlate to a number outside of Zoom - so if a user hit the *0 speed dial then dialed 100 it would translate to XXX-XXX-XXXX, if they hit *0 and dialed 101 it would translate to XXX-XXX-XXXY, and so forth.

We currently do this on our old platform, but i'm not sure if it's possible to do this with Zoom. If there is a different way to accomplish the same goal for desk phones, let me know.

Do you run into any issues with staying current?

Hey there,

I am one of two IT Help Desk agents for our business. We are looking to use zoom phone to create a group of phones to use as Help Desk desk phones. I was looking to see if someone would explain how we can go about setting up 1 number across multiple phones, so that when a call comes into the Help Desk, all the phones ring simultaneously.

Can someone shoot me in the right direction of where I would start configuring that in the zoom admin console?

Hi! One of our Zoom Phone users is going on extended leave and wants to set up something like an SMS autoresponder or to have any received texts forwarded to another user.

It looks like existing Support articles around this question are only related to call queues, which is not relevant.

Does anyone have suggestions or workarounds for getting something like this done?

Thanks!

Edit:

I'm considering assigning the user's number to an AutoReceptionist group during their leave and allowing the coverage-providing user to respond to SMS that way.

I assume this will make it harder for the leaving user to track call/text history upon their return when I reassign their number. I'm hoping to lessen the impact by adding their account as a non-responding member of the AutoReceptionist group.

Any concerns or issues with this possible workaround?
