Hello: I am a single user account (have admin rights). Somewhere along the line I added virtual backgrounds and used them. Now I would like to remove them but when I start a meeting I get the error

"Your admin has required that you use a virtual background, but you have disabled "Virtual Background"

I have tried many ways.

1. I have enabled Virtual Backgrounds

2. I have done it both on the admin and use side

3. I have disabled on both sides

4. I have logged out and back in.

But alas, no cigar. Very very frustrated. TIA for any help. Super grateful

Hello,

I just had an external partner reach out to me to inform us they are removing Zoom from their environment due to OpenSLL 3.1.1 being a High-Risk vulnerability (CVE-2023-4807). I see in the security bulletin that Zoom moved from OpenSSL 1.1.1 in October for this very reason but now 3.1.1 which is the current is vulnerable, but I am unable to find anything on Zoom forums about this being known or worked on. Is this something that is urgently being patched?

Hello to everyone,

I'm a consultant and I use recurring meeting for each one of my clients.

Recently I discovered I can't create recurring meeting on the zoom app. I can only create them on the website and after that I can see them on the app. BUT, after I used the recurring meeting's link once, it vanishes from the app 😞

In the past the app was so perfect: I created recurring meetings there and the link were all visibles every time.

Now It's a tragedy.

Anyone find a solution for this BIG developers mistake?

I don't understand why they had to make this regress, instead thinking progresses.

I have three different machines all running the same version of Zoom on the same version of Linux, two work perfectly the other has a problem. On the newest of the 3 machines, I can make Zoom crash (or at least lock the display) on demand.

I've discovered two different sequences that cause Zoom to crash

First method:
1) get a meeting going, 1 participant is sufficient
2) click the caret symbol (^) adjacent to the "Chat" button at the bottom of the screen

Second method
1) get a meeting going, 1 participant is sufficient
2) bring up the chat panel
3) click the upside down caret symbol (v) in the top left of the "Meeting Chat" panel

Either of the above sequences brings the zoom window to a halt, video is frozen and Zoom appears pretty much dead. After a few seconds a pop up appears saying:
////
"Zoom" is not responding.
You may choose to wait a short while for it to continue or force the application to quit entirely.
Force Quit | Wait
////

The Force Quit option has the desired effect, it terminates Zoom.

Zoom version: 5.13.3.651
OS version: Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS
Hardware: Acer Swift SF314-42
RAM: 8GB
CPU: AMD® Ryzen 7 4700u with radeon graphics × 8
Graphics: RENOIR (renoir, LLVM 15.0.6, DRM 3.47, 5.19.0-40-generic)
Gnome version: 42.5
Windowing system: Either Wayland or X11

The crash happens just the same regardless of whether Ubuntu is running X11 or Wayland.

Given that this is only an issue on one of three machines I don't imagine the problem will be easy to replicate, hence I have been looking to find where zoom places its log files. Being Ubuntu, Zoom is running as a snap so I guessed I would find log files somewhere under
~/snap/zoom-client/
So far no luck.

Hello,

I am planning a big zoom event with about 200-500 people which I want to give the possibility to interact with the speaker – so maybe better a big meeting with 500 people is better than a webinar to give all the possibility to add their web cam and to interact? The Zoom will be translated in English and German and I know about the wonderful new feature, that the cloud recording is also saving each language audio to give the possibility to have also the audio interpretation afterwards which I want to use. Is this feature also available for the Big Meeting (500 or 1000) add-on or just for the Webinar add-on?
The zoom is on Monday 20th November so thank you for a quick answer.
