We just went through a Google Workspace transition.

For the sake of simplicity, here are the details. 
CompanyA_dot_com was primary workspace, and my employee logged into it using name_At_companyA_dot_com  - with Zoom to connect to her Google calendar.  

 

CompanyB_dot_com was a google alias domain in the primary workspace, but employee used name_At_companyB_dot_com as the login to Zoom. (not using Google SSO etc) 

I only use name_At_companyA_dot_com for all activities and don't try to connect my Google calendar in Zoom. 

 

Yesterday, our company split those 2 domains into two separate Workspaces. CompanyA_dot_com went to a new workspace, with me in that move. 


My employee went stayed in the original Workspace account, where CompanyB_dot_com become primary domain. 
She can only connect to Google now through name_At_companyB_dot_com

At issue is this morning, when trying to log in to to reconnect her Google Calendar to Zoom, it does NOT connect, and the little error message pops up that says 

"Add failed, the calendar-related access permissions are not allowed" 

I'm kinda stumped as 2 days ago it worked. Now it doesn't. 

Is this a Google thing or a Zoom thing?  Any thoughts on what I can do? 

I did go into Zoom /account/setting then into Integrations , Calendar and contacts integration, enabled it for Google but she still can't log in. 

 

Any ideas what we should do?

It would be extremely helpful to have a feature that prompts users to select their virtual background before entering a meeting. This would help avoid situations where users accidentally join meetings with an inappropriate or incorrect background, which can lead to awkward conversations and potential confusion.

The proposed feature could include the following options:

  1. Pre-Meeting Prompt: Before joining a meeting, prompt users to choose or confirm their virtual background. This ensures that users have the correct background set for the specific context of the meeting.

  2. Default Background Setting: Allow users to set a default Zoom generic background that is automatically applied when they join a meeting. Users can then change it as needed once they are in the meeting, if appropriate.

This improvement would greatly enhance the professionalism and ease of use for individuals who frequently switch between different virtual backgrounds due to varied work or personal contexts. It would also save time and reduce the stress of needing to manually adjust settings after entering a meeting.

Thank you for considering this request. I believe it would significantly enhance the experience for many Zoom users.

not connecting to assigned breakout room

i regularly attend a very large zoom meeting which sets up multiple breakout rooms.

they are randomly assigned rooms.

the last two weeks, once breakout room time arrives, I have not been put through to a breakout room.

my screen keeps spinning and never connects.

it is not an everyday occurance but it never happened in the last two years.

please advise!!

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DIM THE BRIGHTNESS ON VIDEO?

Current Setup:

  • Zoom Version: Zoom Desktop Client (Version 5.10.1)
  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • Internet Connection: Fiber Optic (200 Mbps download / 100 Mbps upload)
  • Hardware: Logitech C920 Webcam, Blue Yeti Microphone, and Bose QuietComfort Headphones

Issues Encountered:

  1. Audio Problems: I frequently experience audio lag and echo during meetings. Participants often report difficulty hearing me clearly.
  2. Video Quality: The video quality sometimes drops, resulting in blurry or pixelated images. This happens even though my internet connection is stable.
  3. Screen Sharing: When I share my screen, the shared content occasionally lags or freezes for other participants.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  • Updated Software: Ensured that both Zoom and my operating system are up-to-date.
  • Checked Hardware: Verified that my webcam and microphone are properly connected and functioning.
  • Network Check: Performed speed tests to confirm that my internet connection is stable.
  • Adjusted Settings: Tested different audio and video settings within Zoom.

I've been having this irritating flickering on Zoom.

If this happens on a laptop camera, I would just switch it from 60 Hz to 50 Hz. Then the problem's solved.


However, I couldn't find this option on the Zoom camera settings, and it causes flicking when the camera is on.
I'm wondering if there are any other options on Zoom available to solve this.
