Is there a way to save the live transcription so that only one person and/or the host has access to the saved transcript? (I don't want to actually record the session due to privacy issues.) If there is one participant who is hearing impaired we would like that person, and/or the host, to be able to access the transcript after the meeting, but not have it accessible to the whole group. Is there a way to do this?  I can see how to save the transcript, but it appears it will then be accessible to everyone?

I wanted to record only the shared screen without any camera video.

I poked through as many settings as I could find and in the local recording I unchecked the box that says "Place video next to the shared screen in the recording".  I didn't realize that a) this would only affect the local recording and b) that local recording has it's own record button, so I ended up with a cloud recording only AND it has the presenter's camera video stuck to the side. I had the thought that I could just crop camera shot out and render a new video BUT this recording isn't even 1080p resolution to begin with. It's going to look pretty bad going this route. Is there any way to "rerender" the video from the Zoom cloud with the layout that I want?

btw, Zoom is supposed to be the 'easy' way to do this video chat stuff. But it seems like it's become a tangled mess of different support documents and unintuitive option names in the software.

Converted a recording but Zoom says file does not exist

Back in July I recorded a video podcast episode as I always do. it converted, I renamed it, now that I'm ready to edit and get it out there, when I click on the file(s) there are 2 with the same number, I get an error saying "file does not exist." Ho... Show more

Back in July I recorded a video podcast episode as I always do. it converted, I renamed it, now that I'm ready to edit and get it out there, when I click on the file(s) there are 2 with the same number, I get an error saying "file does not exist." How could it exist enough to be converted but now not exist? I have checked everywhere else I can think of. "Record" starts as soon as I start the meeting and there is 3 secs of me waiting for my guest, that's it.

I'm guessing this is a lost cause but thought someone might have some insight.

The newest update for Zoom keeps the app running in the background once you leave a meeting.

I *know* that we can go to the windows task icon bar and right click (AGAIN) on the icon and quit zoom.

However this is a hidden and extra task that, if forgotten, causes problems with the several other audio applications that i use on a daily basis.

Is there any reason why zoom can't be setup to exit entirely when we close/exit the session?

You know, like almost all other applications??

I feel like I know the answer but my boss REALLY wants this confirmed: Will the meeting links I've generated prior to purchasing an add-on be reflective of said add-on. My guess is that "yes, no matter when the link is generated, upon clicking, the zoom system checks and enables all current access, rights, and add-ons"

Am I correct in assuming this? Or should I generate new meeting links if I want those meetings to reflect the newly purchased add-ons?

The Linux version of zoom needs some love.... It legit, doesn't pick up my integrated mic.... I had to switch to my Windows 10 dual boot for the app to work properly, I'd rather not use Windows 10 or any of Microsoft's products. I daily drive one of framework's laptops Batch 6, with the OS being Ubuntu. The video gets picked up just fine on Ubuntu, it's just the mic, no matter how much I mess with the audio setting via pulse audio it doesn't pick it up.

Is there a forked version of Zoom that works on their servers and works like any other run of the mill zoom application that works with Ubuntu or any other flavor of Linux?

I still use a PC with an Intel 2600K i7 CPU. However I also have an AMD RX 570 graphics card in this system with 8GB of VRAM. It could easily support virtual backgrounds, but there does not seem to be a way to override the simple CPU check that flags my CPU as "old" and simply disables the feature.
It is annoying that I can use Google Meet and other video conferencing software with all features enabled, but not Zoom. Would you please allow a setting in the GUI somewhere, or at least a setting that can be added to the config file that would skip this compatibility check?
