Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can share some guidance and best practices that I can share with meeting attendees who are experiencing low bandwidth/poor video & audio quality.

When hosting virtual events on Zoom, I will occasionally receive inquiries from attendees that the video/audio is cutting out. These appear to be isolated cases on the attendees' side, not a more widespread issue (e.g., low bandwidth on the side of the host). We suspect this is the case because these are meetings with large numbers of attendees with only 1 or 2 people occasionally raising concerns about low audio quality (e.g., sound cutting out).

Generally, the guidance that we give in these situations is to recommend that meeting attendees leave and then rejoin the meeting; or ensure that they have the most up-to-date version of Zoom downloaded.

Are there other best practices that you would advise users on how to improve audio/video quality on their end?

Other than recommending that attendees leave and rejoin the meeting, what other guidance can we offer to help ensure a high-quality experience for users?

Thank you!

Hello, recently a user in our organization complained he was not able to login to zoom meeting twice, neither via browser nor desktop app. We utilize Zoom VDI. When I attempted to read .dmp log generated during the time of crash, I was not able to open them. Could you point me to the direction where I can send these logs to in order to collect error codes for further troubleshooting?

Android app: decline to view screen share

Hi. Using the Android app on my tablet, I go to a class where the teacher screen shares a PDF of a textbook. But I have the paper textbook so don’t need to see the screen share and I’d rather stick with gallery view and see my classmates. On the PC I can just make the screen share tiny. Is there any way I can do something similar - or decline to see the screen share - on an Android tablet?

Resolved! How to recover deleted user (or transfer meetings after deletion)

I inadvertently deleted a user without transferring data to another in the process (we were short on licenses so I had to delete them before adding the new ones staff wanted, plus I wasn't asked to keep anything...). I've lodged several tickets (they just get closed) and tried the online web chat - apparently our $1000s we spend per year are not enough to get any support from a human being, other than self-help. No wonder Teams is taking market share!

Anyway, does anyone know how to undelete a user, or at least change the ownership on all their previously created meetings, without the user existing any longer & therefore not being able to log in as them...? Can I override the ownership as an admin somehow to allocate to a new user/owner?

Thank you!

One of our employees has been having consistent trouble with their zoom phone system as a whole.

She uses the poly voyager 5200 UC, but for some reason it constantly cuts out audio while others are speaking and also while she is speaking. Up until today I assumed it was some sort of bluetooth issue, but she had since retired the 5200 and used the handset only to get the same result.

The only sort of error it will give is it sometimes says that a microphone isnt detected.

Zoom version 5.17.31859

Poly lens app was used to update the bluetooth device and there are no driver updates available.

Hi Everybody,

With the latest update, I'm having troubles with the Zoom app, I can't connect my Zoom through android cellphone (Galaxy S21 Ultra) using any bluetooth headphone or Android Car Audio.

When the meeting start, It show that the bluetooth is connected, but the sound is coming out of the speaker.

I reseted my cellphone, uninstall and install 3 times zoom app, unpair and pair again my devices (All devices works using any app except zoom).

I'm looking older versions but I can't found it.

Any idea?

I have had good video on zoom for years.  In last two weeks, my video has gone darkish and has a green cast.  I've tried playing around on video settings with no luck.  Did something change on defaults?  Help me figure out how to get back to a good video image.  (btw, I don't use any filters or backgrnds, so that isn't part of the problem.)  thanks for the help.

I recently saw that external USB webcam support was enabled in Zoom 5.17.0 and got super excited! Unfortunately I am unable to get this to work in any of the configurations attempted.

My primary setup is using a Blackmagic ATEM Mini with a mirrorless camera. This shows up as a USB webcam and works great in FaceTime and other apps. The iPad is usually connected to a Thunderbolt 4 dock and has an external monitor connected.

When first attempting to launch Zoom 5.17.2 in this configuration the app was stuck in a crash loop during launch. I disconnected everything except for the ATEM Mini connected directly to the iPad. This allowed me to start a meeting, but the app would crash after attempting to switch cameras to the ATEM Mini instead of the iPad’s built-in camera.

This experience has led me to a couple of questions;

  1. Is anyone else running into similar issues on Zoom 5.17.x or later?
  2. What is the expected user workflow to enable external USB webcams? Just have it connected and select switch cameras while in the meeting?
  3. Are there any limitations to this feature with Thunderbolt docks, external displays, etc?

Hoping to figure this out so I can continue to be 100% iPad in my workflow. Zoom external camera support has been the missing experience to make this possible!
