Please put a giant "well-lit" Mute / Unmute button at the top or bottom of the Zoom meeting screen

I made this request 2-3 years ago and was summarily refused. This is such an easy code fix; I was truly disturbed by Zoom's response and total failure to understand what is really going on with average users out in the world. Feel free to keep the audio setup methodology that you already have...fine...I love being forced to remember the 3 or 4 steps it takes to get to the audio controls...but please add this "easy button". Along with (1) figuring out how to properly send meeting invitations and (2) meeting hosts to manage their screens, the #1 issue I experience in my use of zoom in multiple groups (over 15) is the simple failure of attendees to mute and unmute themselves and the time wasted with the silence, the additional time to figure out how to mute / unmute, and then even more time to restate whatever they were saying. NOT EVERY USER IS AN EXPERT nor do they want to be. These folks are often embarrassed when they realize what has happened. Is that really the experience with zoom that you want them to have? Bosses and other leaders, as well as some attendees, are already clamoring to go back to in-person meetings. I'm giving you a simple change that will really help out YOUR meeting goers have a better experience. Two more things. If you can, make the button mute zoom ONLY, not the whole system. And, your current output method doesn't actually fully mute the audio. I can still hear it even when the output level in your popout window is at zero.

Has anyone ever encountered the Zoom capturing your screen while not logged into Zoom?

 

On my Mac, I noticed a purple screen icon pop up in the menu bar at the top. When I left clicked, it said "zoom.us is capturing your screen." There was no way to exit I then logged into the Zoom app to check the settings, but I could not find anything relevant. I logged out of Zoom and the icon was still there. When I checked tried to Force Quit, Zoom was not found in the list for me to terminate. I ultimately shut down my computer, and when I turned it back on, the icon was gone.

Problems with audio (sharing) quality since zoom update

I am used to share audio (Spotify music) from my computer with my clients. I also use a DJImic microphone for the sessions. This usually works great, also on the recording. Since the update (discovered yesterday in my case), this has totally changed.... Show more

I am used to share audio (Spotify music) from my computer with my clients. I also use a DJImic microphone for the sessions. This usually works great, also on the recording. Since the update (discovered yesterday in my case), this has totally changed. There is a lot of 'noise', the audio sharing option has moved and doesn't work properly. Some clients were able to hear music, others did not. The recording was also a disaster haha.

Last resort I shared the link to my playlist. But also the normal audio was different as a mentioned. 

Someone else experienced this?

Longtime zoom user for work as an attorney. My PC build combination is a 5070 GPU/9800X3D CPU. All drivers/bios/Windows 11/Zoom are up to date. I’ve tried configuring every setting imaginable to fix this, including unselecting hardware acceleration for receiving video in the zoom application settings-nothing fixes the issue. Audio does not freeze and the videos aren’t freezing from the participant end, only my view of them which is incredibly distracting. I’ve tried tweaking every setting I can possible think of/find. My camera/internet connection has not changed and the application barely puts a dent in my memory/CPU. I manually ensured my GPU is selected in the Nvidia Application Control Center for Zoom. Is there any other suggested fix for this?

Hello, I recently updated and since then the participants video keeps freezing. Everything else is exactly the same as before the update so not an issue with internet, computer or camera. It only stops freezing if I share my screen. I’ve tried unloading and reloading but it didn’t make any difference. Can anybody help? I can’t work with it like this. Many thanks in advance, Sarah

One of our execs is asking me for the following data:

 

  • Total hours spent in Zoom meetings in 2024 (I tried the "Daily" report under "Usage," but it shows "Total Participant Minutes" which is time spent by ALL users in every meeting. She just wants the total amount of time for all meetings)
  • The "biggest" Zoom day in 2024 (the day with the most amount of total time spent in Zoom meetings).

Is it possible to get that information? Thank you!

Morning everybody!

 

I have been using Zoom for a couple of years and lately most calls keep breaking up. As this has persisted, in the middle of the call I switch to Google Meet to see if the problems lies in my connection but the call in Meet is just perfect.

I would really appreciate if you could help me here as I find Zoom an excellent tool and would love to continue using it.
