Screen share problem with videos - is it a glitch?

After recent Zoom upgrades, in early January 2023, I suddenly was unable to share a video clip using share screen if I tried to share it full screen. Automatically the screen share was paused, without my doing anything and even when I tried to unpause it in the panel across the top it would not undue.  

 

I can use sharescreen to share a video clip on Zoom if I don't try to make it full screen. But every time I try to go full screen with the video clip I get the same problem.

 

Could it be a Mac issue?  I have a smallish Mac screen display size of 13.3 inches. Could that be a problem? It was fine before - until the 2023 Zoom updates. Currently using Mac OS Ventura 13.2.

I am using zoom for 1.5 Years, but most of the time, I am using BBB.

 

Since 2-3 weeks, my video is horribly lagging in Zoom, while it works without any issue in BBB.

 

Do you see any possibility, how I could get to the bottom of the cause? It is difficult, to tell my colleagues, to move to BBB 😐, but maybe I could do some research on this issue?

 

Technical Specs:

I am using Manjaro Linux on a Lenovo Ideapad (kernel 5.14.14-AMD-znver2) with a Ryzen 4700U and 16 Gigs of RAM. Internet accessand via Vodafone (1 GBit/s, cable).

 

Example:

Obs Studio with a video -> virtual camera -> Zoom and BBB simultaneously (both in Firefox V93), my CPU load is at ~ 50-60%, 60% RAM usage (some more FF-instances and apps ..) and there is no swapping. Result: BBB runs the video stream perfectly,  Zoom seems to show every 2nd or 3rd frame. Maybe I can create a Video and load it up to YouTube.

 

Has anyone an idea, where to look for the reason?

Hey,

 

 we will be doing an interview in the future which will be edited afterwards. Therefore, we would like to record on both ends (main speaker and participant)  in the best possible quality. Is there a way to make a participant record himself continuously? So without the view switching between active speakers? I know we can record the gallery view and spotlight the two, but the quality is considerably lower.

Because Zoom cannot be bothered to provide customer service to their customers, I reach out to you, my fellow customers for help.

The video quality on ZOOM CALLS ONLY on my computers has suddenly gotten glitchy. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, I tried updating, to no avail. So I switched to a different computer. I checked the quality there and it worked. Later when I logged on for a VERY IMPORTANT WORK CALL Zoom did an automatic update, and suddenly the video quality on this second computer was exactly the same as on the other computer. Glitchy and non-functioning - causing me to lose an important job. HELP!!

Can't use mic and speaker running through same USB audio interface

I am using a Tascam USB audio interface to manage my audio devices. When I try to use Zoom, it will detect both of these connected but it will only be able to either the speakers or the microphone. For example, I will be able to use the speakers running through the Tascam, but it won't detect any sound coming through the microphone. Alternatively, if I start Zoom with different speakers connected, such as my bluetooth earbuds, the microphone works fine. All my drivers are up to date and I'm using Windows 10. Anyone have any experience with this?

We have a meeting where we need to send a separate invitation inviting them to a Zoom meeting to a "guest speaker" but we also need to send the same invitation to our required attendees who are part of the Committee. Today, when we sent the invitation to the guest speaker's email - the Zoom app in Outlook automatically created a calendar appointment on Outlook for that email. Then, when we sent out the calendar email invite for all the required attendees - it created a duplicate calendar invite in Outlook.

 

We are trying to figure out if there is a setting that will prevent two duplicate calendar entries from the Zoom app in Outlook or if this is a bug that needs to be worked on by Zoom. The meeting ID for both were the same. Nothing in the emails were different except the body of the message. The zoom invitation (copied by the app into the Outlook invite messenger window) was the same also.

 

Upon conducting some research, it appears that other Zoom users who have Outlook or Gmail have the same issue as well...so we think it may be a bug or a missing setting but just want to confirm.
