Zoom drops when connected to external display and the external display loses power

I have a mac book pro which is connected to external display. I usually keep the lid of the macbook closed.During a zoom meeting when the power to external display is lost, zoom automatically closes and kicks me out of the meeting.This doesn't happen... Show more

I have a mac book pro which is connected to external display. I usually keep the lid of the macbook closed.
During a zoom meeting when the power to external display is lost, zoom automatically closes and kicks me out of the meeting.

This doesn't happen on windows machine. On windows, i am still in the meeting when power to external display is lost.

is there a way i can fix this for mac ?

Hi there, I've been having issues on my new work laptop. I initially installed Zoom and joined a meeting within the app and it worked fine. The next meeting I tried to join, I oddly was unable to. The app believed I was still in a meeting. I checked my task manager and it does believe I'm constantly in one, but there are no windows that prove I'm actually there. Even if I clear my cache, or uninstall/reinstall the app, i still have this problem. I've tried to look it up online and there doesn't seem to be anyone else with this problem. Might be a computer issue rather than an app issue, but regardless I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts.

I'm trying to pre-assign people to their breakouts with their emails before my meeting starts but when I test launch the zoom meeting, no one is assigned to their groups, the rooms are empty. Do people need to be zoom users? or have registered for th... Show more

I'm trying to pre-assign people to their breakouts with their emails before my meeting starts but when I test launch the zoom meeting, no one is assigned to their groups, the rooms are empty. Do people need to be zoom users? or have registered for the meeting? How do i pre-assign people and make them stick? Thanks! (I will have a mix of external zoom users and non-zoom users when i actually go live with the meeting)

First, I have to say, trying to reach Zoom support is a complete nightmare. The worst I have ever encountered with any company. The chat support says my account doesn't have live chat support. But I have the Pro plan which is supposed to. I tried phone support and they said my account doesn't include live phone support and to use chat support. Just going in circles. It's horrible!

 

Anyway, the problem I'm having is just this. I would like to share media - photos and videos from my Photos app - during a meeting.

 

There is no problem doing this on my Mac. But on my iPad I can't find the videos. It's not listed as one of the media types to share.

 

Is there a solution for this?

 

And if somebody from Zoom support wants to contact me about how hard it is to get support I would also appreciate that.

I am scheduling a zoom meeting and has about 500 participants registered. I would like to bull export all their unique meeting links so that our customer service team can send their unique meeting links personally through whatsapp. I would like to avoid sending them the unique zoom links using email bcz checking email is just not a things in my country… (do not recommend me salepager) thanks 

 

btw, this question has been asked in the forum since 2021 and i couldnt find any solution in 2024 yet.

Microphone not working on iPhone or IPad - not fixed with update. Please help.

I’ve seen a few posts about this issue.-Tried and checked settings for all Zoom troubleshooting steps, nope all in order. -Re-installed latest app. Also re-started several times after. Re-re-installed and re-started. Dead mike continues! No recommend... Show more

I paid the Zoom translation addon and have some trouble using it. If I am hosting a meeting, it seems to work but whenever I join a meeting, the translation settings aren't available. Is it possible to enable caption translation without being the host of the meeting?

Hello, we have a friend, who ist in austria and later in rumania. We gave her the zoom telephone numbers for both countries, so that she is able to join our video-zoom-meeting, placed in germany.

My question is: how much does it cost for her?  She has a german mobile provider and is dialing into zoom by +40 for rumania and e.g. +43 for austria.

Does Zoom block people from recording meetings using QuickTime?

 

I was a participant in a meeting that I did not own/initiate. 

I tried to record a meeting via QuickTime on my Macbook Pro to reference later.

It started recording, then stopped at least once. I stopped paying attention.

Anything that I recorded was not saved, unlike other QuickTime recordings. 

 

When I do a "test meeting" with just myself and initiate it, I can record it, but that's just with myself.
