Whenever someone joins my personal meeting room, a pop-up video preview dialog always appears that prompts attendees to turn on their video. I do not want this to be enabled and can't figure out how it was activated or how to deactivate it.

 

It's an annoying extra step that someone must go through before they join my meetings.

 

Anyone know the right setting that will allow attendees to join the room with whatever their default setting is (camera on or camera off)?

Hello -- we have had several uncomfortable instances of participants coming off mute during large meetings, despite having the "mute participants upon entry" setting enabled. Is there another setting that would allow us to completely prevent users from unmuting themselves not only upon entry, but throughout the meeting?

 

In the past, we have found a setting that allowed us to mute participants throughout the meeting, but it also disabled participants from using the meeting chat. We would like to allow participants to use the chat, but remain muted throughout meetings.

When I use Zoom on my desktop computer, the video picture that I see of me is distorted. See pic. Other members of the Zoom session tell me that my picture on their end is fine, no distortion. I had this problem on a previous computer and thought that it was a video card problem. However, I changed the video card (three different times) and it persisted. I bought a new computer and exactly the same problem occurred. I do not have this problem on a laptop which uses the same internet resources and sits adjacent to the desktop. Any suggestions as to cause or cure?

Здравствуйте, раньше был чат в конференции, сейчас создала у меня он есть, а у участников нет его совсем. Сразу скажу, что я проверила мои сообщения должны быть видны всем, но почему-то никто не видит.  

На фото показала, что у меня он есть и доступ для всех настроен, посмотрела в настройках, но у участников нет. Как его подключить у участников?

I'm getting this error message when trying to schedule a meeting.  I followed the prompts to update the time zone but when I go to time zone it's correct.  Here is the error message:

Need help. Just updated the Zoom app in my Mac M1 and to my surprise, it auto-blurred my video back ground even if the VIRTUAL BACKROUND settings is currently defaulted at "NONE". I'm using my Sony camera as my webcam and it's lens produces more pleasing/natural blurry background than the app. How to remove the auto-blurr effect?

Hello:

 

On a 2021 14" M1 Macbook Pro running a fully patched instance of macOS 12.1, I have an issue where the background is blurry and if there is more than one person on camera, Zoom will randomly try to  focus on  that person in the background.

 

I have verified and/or tried the following already:

 

1.  Virtual background is turned off (and therefore, the blurred effect is disabled).  

2.  Playing around with various video settings including "HD, "Touch up my appearance", and "Adjust for low light".  Also tried the disabling the de-noise and hardware acceleration under advanced video settings. 

3.  Lighting  in room is confirmed as good.

4,  Zoom is updated to 5.9.1 (and apparently automatically updated to ensure compatibility with the M1 chip version).

5.  Basic Mac troubleshooting included macOS updates, restarting, Disk Utility.   (And one can no longer reset the NVRAM/SMC on M1 Macs anymore). 

 

Issue also occurs if external camera is used instead of built-in FaceTime HD camera. 

 

**By comparison, video in FaceTime and Photo Booth apps indicates the blurriness issue does NOT occur. Video is in crisp HD**

 

I also tried creating another user account on the Mac;  lo and behold, the issue does NOT occur.  

 

I've uninstalled Zoom, re-installed, and rebooted but issue persists.

 

This is clearly a local user account-specific issue. 

 

Am seeking advanced troubleshooting  tips without having to delete the Mac user account. 

 

The Zoom Uninstaller does a pretty good job of removing all related files in the these folders:

 

  • ~/Library/Caches
  • ~/Library/Logs
  • ~/Library/Cookies
  • ~/Library/Saved Application State

I've also configured Finder to show all hidden files but didn't spot any other Zoom-related files. 

 

Any additional suggestions are appreciated.

Can anyone assist me? On Sunday when we have live music and add to our church meeting the sound goes in and out. I currently have the Focusrite interface connected to my computer and then I have a connection to the musician board. But the sound goes in and out when the music is played. Now during the week at bible study (no music), I never have a problem. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Since a recent zoom update about 2-3 weeks ago, I've got small black rectangles that appear on the videos of other people on my zoom calls and webinars.    My video looks fine.   Please see the attached file to see what I'm talking about.   I've updated zoom to last version.  Still same result.     Any ideas how to fix this?

Zoom doesn't start when I join the meeting using a link.

Whenever I click on a link to join the meeting, normally I'm supposed to get a popup asking if I want to open zoom, and then I click yes & then zoom opens. Now it no longer works. The popup just doesn't appear anymore, Zoom also doesnt open. Because of this Im also unable to log in to Zoom using Google or Facebook since Zoom no longer opens. What should I do? I tried on both newer & older versions, I tried the latest but it still didnt work.
