Empowering the next generation: Zoom's $5 million commitment to AI education

On September 4, 2025, Zoom CEO Eric Yuan joined other technology leaders to attend the White House Task Force meeting on AI education and support the Pledge to America's Youth, a commitment to help prepare today’s students for a world where AI skills are as foundational as math or reading.

At Zoom, we believe AI can strengthen and transform education, not replace it. It should free teachers to focus on teaching, give students more personalized learning experiences, and help families feel confident that their children are developing the skills that matter for the future. Building on our history of keeping classrooms connected during the pandemic and supporting hybrid learning today, we’re committed to helping the next generation thrive in an AI-powered world.

"In a world where AI competency is increasingly becoming a key driver of career success, students need to be equipped with skills to put this technology to work for them in a safe and effective manner,” said Yuan. “Our goal is to make AI accessible and helpful for everyone by using it to streamline tasks for educators, personalize learning for students, and equip young people with the skills they'll need for tomorrow's careers.”

An investment in the future of learning

As part of the AI Education Pledge, Zoom is dedicating $5 million over three years to support K-12 education through carefully targeted cash grants and product donations to outstanding nonprofits and education institutions working at the national and local level. This initiative focuses on three key areas:

AI literacy: Funding programs that teach K-12 students about AI and creating accessible resources for all.

AI career pathways: Supporting internships and courses to help students explore and pursue careers in AI, especially for underrepresented groups.

Workforce development: Providing upskilling and retraining aligned with industry needs for workers and job seekers.

Joining forces for the next generation

Zoom is proud to join other tech leaders in this effort. By participating, we're helping to ensure the next generation is ready to not just adapt to AI, but to lead its development. As Yuan noted, “Zoom continues to be a leader in keeping students, teachers, and parents connected and providing safe and secure AI tools to help with learning and administrative tasks. We believe that, by working together, we can give future generations the skills they need to drive innovation".

What’s next

Zoom will share more about how it will bring this commitment to life at this year’s Zoomtopia conference, happening virtually on September 17. Secure your spot and follow the Zoom newsroom for more updates.

We've all been there—scrolling endlessly through scattered files, desperately searching for a key meeting recording or that brilliant whiteboard session. As Zoom Workplace has evolved, so has the digital clutter, making it harder to find, share, and manage the content you create. The simple act of accessing a file shouldn’t feel like a scavenger hunt.

This fragmentation doesn't just waste your time; it breaks your flow. You're a few clicks away from the information you need, but those few clicks become a convoluted journey across different tools and platforms. We knew there had to be a better way to connect all the powerful assets you create on Zoom.

That's where Zoom Hub comes in.

Hello, everyone.

My company is using Intune for device management and Okta for authentication from Zoom. Is there a way to limit user authentications on mobile devices to require the Zoom for Intune app registered to a device in our tenant? We can't use Conditional Access because we're using Okta for SSO.

Have you been considering whether your organization could benefit from implementing Online Fax services?

Zoom Phone Online Fax is an electronic fax service enabling users to send and receive faxes without a traditional fax machine. It's available for Zoom Phone Pro and various Zoom Workplace plan subscribers. Users can exchange PDF files and utilize features such as auto receptionist and shared line group caller IDs for faxing.

Fax usage is charged per page for certain plans, while others offer unlimited faxing. Currently, the service is limited to US and Canada users and supports only black and white faxes. Users can manage and view their fax logs through the Zoom Workplace app or web portal.

Additionally, Online Fax requires a Zoom Phone Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) or Prepay plan to be activated.

To enable to disable the Online Fax, please refer to the Knowledge Based Article regarding Enabling or Disabling Online Fax. You may also browse additional Knowledge Based Article about Understanding Online Fax Licensing.

I've been encountering some customers who want to get more out of Zoom Workplace, so I thought of sharing this tool that might be of interest.

Many of us know Zoom for virtual meetings, but its powerful features can also enhance your in-person gatherings. Picture a lively brainstorming session: ideas are flowing and key decisions are being made. Can you remember every single detail a week later? Probably not.

This is where recording with Zoom comes in. It's like having a perfect memory for your meeting, capturing all the valuable discussion points and decisions. This simple tool ensures your team can easily review what was said, get new members up to speed, and keep everyone aligned.

Using Voice Recorder with AI Companion

To make this even easier, Voice Recorder can be used with AI Companion. It records your in-person conversation and then automatically generates a transcript and summary. This gives you a written and audio record of what was said, which is great for documentation, training, or just quickly referencing key details.

Before you begin, always make sure you follow all applicable laws when recording conversations. The first time you start recording, an on-screen prompt will appear with instructions to guide you.

How to Record an Ad Hoc Event

Follow these simple steps to start a new recording with the Zoom mobile app:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.

  2. Tap the Record button.

  3. If a verification dialog appears, tap OK.

  4. The recording will start right away, unless you have an upcoming calendar event.

  5. If you do have a scheduled event, you'll be prompted to choose between it or a new recording. Simply tap New recording, then Start recording.

We hope that more users make use of this tool for their important conversations. To know more about Zoom's Voice Recorder, please access this guide on Using Voice Recorder with AI Companion.

Zoomtopia 2025, our all-virtual annual user conference, is coming up! Get a sneak peek at the speakers and conversations you can look forward to, and register before it's too late.

Behind every organization are the people getting things done — people like you. You’re dreaming up better ways to connect and make work more meaningful. But you’re also facing a technology landscape that moves at the speed of light, consumer expectations that are higher than ever, and economic pressure putting the squeeze on your budget.

We see you.

The solopreneur, stuck in the day-to-day grind of trying to do ten jobs at once. You’d rather focus on business development, but you find yourself sweating the small stuff — responding to emails, scheduling meetings, and ironing out IT issues.

The marketing manager tasked with growing pipeline, nurturing relationships, and building your brand. You’ve got a lean team that doesn’t have the time to build out emails and landing pages and social posts for your latest webinar, but you’ve got big goals you need to hit.

The CX leader facing growing pressure to incorporate AI into your contact center operations. Your customers love the service your team provides, and you’re worried that dropping an AI chatbot on them will erode their hard-earned trust.

You think, there’s got to be a better way.

We think so, too.

Zoomtopia 2025: For the people

This year’s Zoomtopia is for the people. Because you deserve work that works for you. And we’re exploring what’s possible when real people do extraordinary things on Zoom.

Zoomtopia 2025 brings together the thinkers, builders, and doers who are rewriting the rules of collaboration in the age of AI. And we’re inviting you to join us on Sept. 17 (Americas) and Sept. 18 (APAC, EMEA, and Japan) for an all-virtual celebration of YOU.

But taking time away from your busy day can be a big ask. That’s why we’re not just celebrating, we’re sharing can’t-miss product announcements, valuable tips, and real-life customer stories to help you turn inspiration into action. Here are five reasons why you should be there:

1. Zoomtopia is tailored to you

This year, we've got seven unique tracks — more than we've ever had — based on your role and your goals. Whether you're a small-business owner, a school administrator, an IT pro, or a Zoom enthusiast looking for fresh tips on running your next virtual book club, there's something for everyone. You'll find sessions tailored to challenges you actually face and solutions that work for you.

2. Celebrate real people doing amazing things

Zoomtopia has always been a celebration of our customers, and this year is no different. Each track gives you a chance to learn from people like you. Come hear firsthand about how customers like TalkSpace and SharkNinja conquered their thorniest communication challenges using Zoom.

3. Get exclusive insights on entrepreneurship, culture, and innovation

Tune in for conversations that'll have you rethinking the definition of work and leadership. Hayden Brown from Upwork will be there, sharing exclusive insights on how AI is transforming entrepreneurship. You'll have a front-row seat to a fireside chat with NBA All-Star Chris Paul and Khan Academy CEO, Sal Khan. And of course, you'll hear from Zoom's founder and CEO, Eric S. Yuan, about how we’re approaching this era of AI and collaboration.

4. Don't just listen in — be a part of it

We've all been to webinars that feel like one-way talk tracks. At Zoomtopia, you can chat with panelists and attendees, ask questions in real time, and react with emojis. It's all run on our own Zoom Events platform, which is built for engagement and meaningful connection. You'll see firsthand how we use our own tools to create virtual experiences that matter.

5. Come away with new tricks up your sleeve

Get inspired by our keynotes, then dive into the details in breakaway sessions led by our Zoom experts. Whether you're deploying Zoom to an enterprise or hosting your first webinar, you'll come away from these masterclasses with practical tips for achieving your goals and the confidence to execute them.

Hey there! Just wanted to give you a heads-up about this cool safety feature on Zoom called Emergency Notifications. Thought you might find it useful to know about!

With our Emergency Call Notification app for Zoom, you can designate any Team Chat channel as a safety team hub that connects with both Zoom Rooms and Digital Signage. When emergencies occur, notifications are automatically sent to this channel, allowing safety personnel to quickly distribute alerts and directions to specific Rooms and Signage displays throughout your organization.

Here are the requirements for using Emergency Call Notification.

  • Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
  • Account owner or admin privileges*
  • Zoom Phone license
  • Zoom Rooms license
  • Active Zoom Room or Digital Signage devices with location data configured

Note: If the admin user that added the app to the account loses admin access, is deleted, disassociated, or deactivated, emergency call notifications will fail. The app must be removed, then added and configured again by another current admin user for the notifications to work properly again.

For more details of the topics listed below, please see the Knowledge Base Article - Using the Emergency Call Notifications app.

  • Installation and Configuration
    • Installing from Zoom Marketplace
    • Setting up Emergency Call Notifications and the channel
