I am testing with enabling the auto update service for the Zoom plugin for Vmware Horizon Client version 5.13.0.  I have set the policy keys on my vdi and i get the prompt for updating to popup when i login to my VDI properly.  I hit OK for the update and it always asks me to put in my Admin credentials.  If I do that it disconnects from the VDI and updates the plugin to the newest version compatible with the VDI version I am on.

My question is, how do I get it so that Admin rights prompt does not happen when updating?  I have tried different switches when deploying the plugin, but it hasn't made a difference so far.  Does a switch have to be set differently when deploying the version on the VDI, or is it even possible?  It doesn't seem like a very handy feature if it can't be done without the use of an Admin prompt, i'm hoping I'm just missing something as I've only just starting deploying with this software this last year.

I recently received the notification to update zoom client. Cool. Looked at the release notes and saw this:

"Changed local storage to one year for free accounts. The local storage duration for free accounts has been changed to one year, allowing messages stored locally to remain accessible for a year for free users. This change will take affect for both new installations and reinstalls."

What does this mean? Why is there a timer on what I can view in my own local storage?? Why will it be applied retroactively upon new install? How can someone else decide what I can and can't have access to on my own device?

Hello Everyone,

I'm encountering persistent issues during Zoom meetings on my Intel Evo-certified laptop, and I'm seeking guidance and assistance from the community to address these challenges.

Issue Description:

During Zoom meetings, I've been experiencing two primary issues:

Poor Video Call Quality: The quality of video during Zoom calls is consistently subpar, characterized by pixelation, blurry visuals, and occasional freezing or lagging. This affects both incoming and outgoing video streams, making communication less effective.

Call Dropouts: There have been frequent instances where the Zoom call abruptly drops or disconnects, disrupting the flow of the meeting and necessitating reconnection.

Specifics of My Setup:

I'm using an Intel Evo-certified laptop, which is up to date with the latest system updates and drivers.

These issues seem to persist only during Zoom meetings, as other video call platforms don't exhibit similar problems, indicating a potential software-specific concern.

Troubleshooting Attempts:

I've ensured a stable and high-speed internet connection specifically for Zoom meetings.

Checked for updates and ensured the Zoom application is running on the latest version.

Verified that the laptop's drivers and system software are updated.

Request for Assistance:

If anyone has encountered similar challenges specifically during Zoom meetings on their Intel Evo laptops or has expertise in troubleshooting video call quality and call dropout issues, I'd greatly appreciate your insights.

Any specific settings adjustments, configurations within Zoom, or laptop-related tweaks that could improve the video call quality and prevent call dropouts would be immensely helpful.

This forum thread aims to gather collective knowledge and potential solutions from the community to resolve these persistent issues during Zoom meetings on Intel Evo-certified laptops.

Thank you in advance for your support and contributions!

Best regards,

Hi there,

I have a trouble using Zoom on a call while I am sharing a screen and writing. While I am writing something e.g. on VS Code Editor, it accidentaly switches to a Zoom's annotation editor very often. Can I disable annotation just for myself? I am taking courses, so time to time my teacher needs to write or draw something to me. I do not need it. Thank you.

Meeting attendee responses

Used to be able to see how many people responded to the Zoom invitation. I do get emails back that tell me someone has accepted, but I can no longer see that when I open the invitation. Is this a setting I'm missing or a feature no longet available? Show more

Hi there,

Using an iPhone (as a document camera) with a macBook in Zoom is very simple, because you can share your screen with iPhone/ipad by airplay or by cable.

Using an iPad instead of a Macbook? there is no option to share the screen with an iPhone.

What for?:

we want to make a Zoom conference with our grandchildren per iPad with zoom.

the document camera (iPhone) shows a reading/picture book, which is under the document camera ("streamed").

The "stream" of the document camera should be shared in zoom,

so that the grandchildren can see the reading/picture book in full size and grandma/grandpa in a little window.

Do you have any hint for this use case?

thx a lot

Sorry, I don't know, which "Select Location" would be the best.
