As the name suggests, I have been running into issues with using Zoom on Linux. I have tried it both on FedoraOS and Linux Mint and keep having the same issue where when I share my screen, it will be extremely laggy and when I check my system monitor, it shows a high amount of cpu usage. I have tried using Zoom through the browser and my cpu usage does seem to be more stable on that but on the desktop app it is nearly unusable. I am not sure if anyone has found a work around to this or has informed Zoom about this issue. I am using the latest Zoom version and it doesn't matter if I install it through Gnome or CLI. And I have tried it on multiple devices. One being a laptop with a Ryzen 7840u and my desktop with a Ryzen 9 5900x so I know my cpu shouldn't be bottle necking it.

In my work, I often need to send meeting invitations to individuals who are not necessarily registered as Zoom users. I have noticed that currently, Zoom requires the invitation to be linked to the user's account, which can be inconvenient in some situations.

I understand that Zoom allows scheduling multiple meetings simultaneously, which is a useful feature. However, this does not solve the main problem I am experiencing, as I need to send invitations regardless of whether the recipient is a registered Zoom user or not.

Therefore, I would like to know if there is any option in Zoom that allows sending invitations without necessarily being linked to the user's account. If there is any feature or setting that I may have overlooked, I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Additionally, if this option is not currently available in Zoom, I would like to inquire whether you are considering adding this functionality in future updates of the platform.

I look forward to your response and appreciate your attention to this inquiry.

Hi,

I think my recording is a local one. I have the three options, open, convert, delete, when I click on the recorded meetings. When I click on convert I get the message Failed to Convert Recording Cannot find the files to convert. Please make sure the following files are in the recording folder, then convert your recording by double-clicking the file.

double_click_to_convert_01.zoom

double_click_to_convert_02.zoom

Then I can cancel or open destination folder. When I click open destination folder it opens the folder but then I get stuck. I can double click audio and I can hear it. I can double click on the zoom icon with the green check mark and I get the same failed to convert recording message again. The other icon I can click is  what looks like a white piece of paper with a corner folded over that says recording.conf with a red dot and white x on it. I have no idea where my video is. Can anyone help? Also, how can I hear the video but can't see it?

I have no idea w

Hello I have a question,

I want to record my webinar but only me or shared screen with only my video. I don't want the other participants to appear in the recording. Also it’s interactive webinar so the participants may speak or ask questions but I want only their voice to be recorded and not their faces/video screen. Is it possible? And if so, what settings I have to put on?

I’ve already tried different options but there were always other participant’s screen recorded.

Thank you for your help!

I have two topics to bring up: 1) I am running Zoom client on a Debian 10 OS on a computer with Intel Broadwell mobile CPU and integrated graphics (Intel HD5500 graphics adapter). I use screen share a lot during my meetings. I notice that after meeting where I screen share, the memory utilization of the Zoom client is always very high (over 1 GB). I wonder if this is someone else's experience. It is nuts that a video conferencing software memory utilization is getting close to what a fatty web browser can do. 2) Starting with Zoom 5.10, I notice an significant in package size (5.9 has the size of ~ 56 MB but 5.10 has the size of > 127 MB). Quo vadis Zoom? I also notice that Zoom now spawns chromium zygote and other types of chromium-like processes, which to me tells that Zoom is moving toward building the app over Chromium and ElectronJS? IS this right? I try to find some hints looking around the web but to no avail. I'm curious because the native Chromebook version is being deprecated, and Zoom PWA is replacing that. So I suspect perhaps Linux will suffer the same fate?
