Is it possible to set up a face to face (on the computer) with my mother, who lives in Florida. Maybe something where I could send her a link along with other members of our immediate family just to say hello and chat about things in general. That would be great. I have to use this laptop but could the others use their Smartphones if thet wanted to? Wondering how to do this and what the cost would be. Thank you for the help.

 I cannot get any audio through my speakers or connected devices when using the Zoom client on either of two new Acer laptops.  When using the Zoom audio settings speaker test, I can see the graphic showing there is output, but there is no sound on the speakers.   All other apps that use audio are just fine on both laptops. Every diagnostic procedure has been tried, including but not limited to de-installing and reinstalling the audio drivers and the Zoom client, and the problem still persists. Windows and Zoom versions are current.  I have worked with the laptops’ manufacturer as well as the Geek Squad and others to diagnose the problem.  All parties point to the Zoom client itself.  I need help with this, as I cannot utilize my subscription with these laptops until the problem is resolved.

Pay annual subscription in advance?

Hi, I have budget to use, can I pay my Zoom subscription in advance? So if my current subscription expires say May 2025 is there a way to pay again, now, and extend my subscription to May 2026? I don't see a way to do this on the billing and payment ... Show more

Background selection window slide control has stopped functioning.

My Windows PC version background selection slide control is not responsive from the Video settings in the online window of the app. I am able to choose from selections I have already uploaded as long as I don't need to scroll down to choose one, and I am able to add new ones. It has been working correctly until recently. Now the scroll bar is frozen, and will not allow me to scroll down to other backgrounds I have uploaded. I have updated the app to the latest version, but the problem remains.

However, it functions normally from the settings/background & effects in the desktop window. That changes the online background as it should.

Hi,

I'm trying to update a meeting through API but it doesn't work.

Here my data:


The response status is 400:

400 BAD REQUEST

I really can't understand this response.

My creating (POST) and reading (GET) meeting functions work fine, but it seems that with updating (PATCH) something goes wrong.

Can you help me?

PS:
In API docs/update meeting  I noticed the following note:
"
The recurrence object is required."
But if you look at "recurrence" in the SCHEMA you find
"Recurrence object. Use this object only for a meeting with type 8, a recurring meeting with fixed time."

My meeting is not a recurring one, but scheduled meeting (type 2). Maybe this is the point?

Resolved! Paid account limits session to 40 minutes

Why is my paid account suddenly limited to 40 minutes.  Before now it was an unlimited time.

Hello, recently I had a zoom meeting. When I tried to connect from my mobile device and laptop it asked for a passcode. When I tried to open it from my desktop it opened as usual. I tried open other zoom links from my mobile device and laptop, they opened as well.

Zoom keeps PAUSING playback of audio AND video in other applications

 

Using Windows 11 and Zoom Version: 5.17.2 (29988). 

 

If I am in a meeting I cannot play audio or video in any other applications for longer than 5 seconds at a time. It's no particular application, ANYTHING that is playing audio or video (Chrome, Edge, VLC Player, Spotify App) all pauses every 5 seconds. You hit play and you get another 5 seconds, then it pauses.

 

The only work around I've found is to start playback BEFORE joining a meeting and then never touch it.

  • If I'm watching Netflix and it changes episodes, that counts as 'touching it' and it starts pausing every 5 seconds
  • If I'm listening to Spotify and an advert kicks in, that counts as 'touching it' and it starts pausing every 5 seconds 

I'm convinced it's got something to do with my sound card drivers and what Windows thinks is the default playback device. Also I had this problem a year or two ago and I FIXED IT but since then I've reinstalled Windows and I'll be dammed if I can remember how I fixed it last time.

I am unable to schedule recurring meetings with no fixed time. There is no button there anymore (only daily, weekly, monthly). Now, when I am trying to make a new recurring meeting it says that my account does not allow it. I have a pro membership and have not had an issue with this before.

 

Any suggestions?

 

So far, the Zoom help person gave me a generic response (to click "no fixed time") that did not answer the question.
