Hi,

 

I installed the Zoom client on my Red Hat 8 laptop with the aid of this document: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0063458#h_b6ce9fba-dd38-4448-80c0-ac2e58db3acc . 

 

This however installs with a local package that won't update with the global system update tools (dnf/yum...). Thus it requires a manual update process to keep up with the latest updates (and to keep it secure).

 

Is there any other way to install it with an actual repository so that it will be updated correctly with the system update tool?

We have postponed a zoom meeting that was going to take place on July 30. The meeting will now take place in September or October, date tbc.

 

I have just sent a 'cancellation' message to all our registrants, sending them a note to say the meeting is postponed.

 

I now find that the registrants box is empty and I cannot retrieve their names and email addresses. Can anyone please help?

 

Of course I now realise I should have backed this up before cancelling. However, there was no warning that the data might be deleted and I had no idea that cancelling would also delete data. 

 

Without their names and emails I shall be unable to inform the registrants of the new date when this is confirmed 😞

How does one obtain a post-meeting participant list?  I am a licensed user and was the meeting host.

Regarding the installation of Zoom on Windows, I am aware of two options:

 

  • The standard installer, which automatically updates but creates a separate Zoom installation for each user for same device. For instance, if there are 5 users, there will be 5 installations of Zoom.
  • The MSI Installer, which performs a single installation and shared by all users. However, Zoom does not have auto-update with this option.

 

Is there a way to achieve a single installation of Zoom that can be use by all users and also auto-updates?

As I understand it on Windows, when installing zoom, I have two choices:

  • Standard installer, which will auto-update but maintain a completely separate Zoom installation for each user.  If there are 5 users, there will be 5 installations for zoom.
  • MSI installer, which will do a single installation to the Program Files directory that will be shared by all users.  However, Zoom will not auto-update.

I want to have a single installation of Zoom shared among all users, but I also want auto-update.  Is there any way to do this?

Need to Keep Host Camera as Default View in Recording

Hello!

 

We have a professor who uses a Logitech Rally System whose camera faces his students to facilitate group learning/discussions. He prefers to start the meetings on his laptop (to show himself & the front whiteboard) and invite the Zoom Room Logitech device to the meeting as a co-host. Due to the mics in the Logitech Rally Bar, he turns off his own laptop mic so he isn't picked up twice. So, although he is actively talking during most of the meeting, since the mic is tied to the Logitech camera's view of the students, his recording automatically switches to this as the primary view. Is there a way to set his laptop camera to always be the default of the recording (especially since that device is the host) instead of defaulting to the camera associated with the audio? 

 

So far, I haven't found a clear solution to this. I realize it probably brings up other issues (of not showing other users who are talking) but I just want to know if this is even a setting he could choose.

We have been using Zoom Meetings for a while and we recently upgraded our audio to include the Audio Conferencing Plan. After looking at the US based numbers we realized we didn't see any US Toll Free Numbers. There are 5 US Toll numbers to choose from, but no Toll Free numbers. There are Toll Free Numbers for Lebanon and the United Kingdom, but not the US. Does anyone one know if it is offered for the US?

Not sure if i chose the right "location" for this post, but im trying to figure out a way my customers can send me a zoom clip or screen recording of what they are looking at.

 

I have an ecommerce membership site and want to put a button in there that says "record your sceen". From what i can tell there are lots of zendesk integrations for this but just wondering if zoom can do it on its own. Like can i pay for a zoom plan upgrade and get a customer support portal?

Is there a way to set the default audio at the machine level, for all users of that machine?
