Zoom Pools

Hello Until three weeks ago there were beta polls applicable to any meeting. Looks like the (great) feature is gone. Does it still exist?

Sondages en mode beta

Hello

Jusqu'à il y a trois semaines, il y avait des sondages en mode beta applicables à n'importe quelle réunion. On dirait que la fonctionnalité (excellente) a disparu. Existe-t-elle encore? 🤔

Resolved! Unstable connection with app and browsers in all meetings despite stable internet connection

Hi,

I've started using Zoom only a couple of weeks ago. Since then I've used it almost on a daily basis.

In every meeting I have connection problems. More or less every 10-15 minutes there's a connection problem arising for about 10 seconds, in that either the other person's video is freezing and the sound is gone, or their video keeps moving but the sound is gone. After that the notification "Unstable connection..." is shown and then it's fine again until the next time it happens.

It happens using the web app in Safari and Chrome as well as using the Zoom app, both when logged in to my account as well as when joining a meeting as a guest. When it's a group meeting, it only happens for me and all the other people's connections are fine.

It's definitely not my internet connection. I'm using a cable to connect to the router, no Wifi enabled. All other video chat/conference tools like Skype, Google Meet, Signal, Telegram and Jitsi work fine.

I'm using the Zoom app out of the box, without changes to the settings. "Touch up my appearance" is disabled.

My system is macOS 11.6.1 on a MacBook Pro 2018.

How can I troubleshoot this issue?

Resolved! Linux version 5.10.3 and 5.10.6: Virtual background and blur not working

The current Linux version of the zoom client breaks the virtual background function. The camera works fine, but switching to virtual background either freezes the image or just shows a black screen.

Has anybody observed the same behaviour?

Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can help me with an issue I am having.

When I am setting up meetings, regardless of whether or not they are one-offs or recurring, I am having lots of problems with my clients. The two problems I have are:

1. When clients enter a meeting, the 'admit' button doesn't show - so I've no way at all of letting them into the room. Usually I have to end the meeting and start again before it will work.

2. When clients go to enter our meeting, they cannot connect because they receive a message saying I am already in a meeting. But the meeting I am in is the one in which they are meant to be connecting to.

For my settings I use a waiting room and allow admittance for participants at any time, so I am confused as to why I have so many issues.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Andy

I updated my Zoom application on June 4 and my screensharing option is non functional. I have troubleshot it in my settings via the web but toggling the "disable screenshare" button but that doesn't seem to help. Now, if I use my Zoom application on my laptop (which has not been updated), I don't have any sharing issues. I can barely share my desktop because the option to do so rarely comes up.

Please forgive me if I am not very good with my words, I may be over thinking this, I just want to make sure I do not have any loose ends in a large project I am working on.  I have looked extensively through the zoom website to look for this information, but I cant seem to find anything relating to virtual background video copyright/licensing & rights.

I tried opening a ticket with zoom support to get some help, but the resources they directed me to only gave information on setting up streams and not virtual background video copyright stuff.

I am trying to find specific information on using a virtual background video, provided by zoom, in a meeting that will be streamed on twitch and uploaded to youtube, the virtual background video is specifically the northern lights one.

I need to know if the virtual background video is copywritten, how is it licensed? Do I need to pay attribution in form of a notification that this video belongs to zoom in my end credits scene?

Considering the intended purposes of zoom can include broadcasting your video to streams and other services, is it just assumed that the virtual background video is being used as intended, without any obligation to the video's creator?  I assume the video is property of zoom.

Is the use of the virtual background video included in the license?

Starting Zoom client on Ubuntu 20.04 with 5k Resolution and 32:9 Aspect ratio results in OOM crash

Hey,

since I was not able to find a similar post I thought I can make a new one.

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 with i3-gaps and as a display I am using a Dell UW4919DW @ 5120x1440.

When I try to start Zoom running at the native resolution it results in consumption of all available

memory and then a crash with "Out of memory".

However when I reduce the resolution to 3840x1080 Zoom seems to have no problems and starts just fine.

This means that the client has trouble running at a horizontal width of larger than 3840 pixels, and I wonder why that is.

It's a bit cumbersome for me to switch resolutions every time I am starting zoom, although it works.

Anyone experienced something similar, or has a workaround in that regards?
