Resolved! Sending an invite to a person to join the meeting at a different time

Hi

I need to invite a third party to a zoom meeting, but not for them to join until 45 minutes after the start of the meeting with other attendees. Is this possible?

I am using Zoom 5.9.0 with Ubuntu 21.10. I have installed Zoom using the deb file downloaded from the Zoom website.

I am able to successfully share videos with audio using screen sharing with the "share sound" option selected. I have tested with another person joined in a meeting and they say the sound quality is good. However, I am not able to hear the sound while I share.

While I am sharing with the "share sound" option selected I see in the Ubuntu sound settings that Zoom is using a sound device called zoom_combine_device. When I stop sharing, I am able to hear the video and I see in the Ubuntu sound settings that the audio device has automatically switched back to my normal audio device.

Also, sound stops sharing if I switch from the zoom_combine_device to my normal audio device while I am sharing a video with the share sound option selected. In this case, I hear the sound from the video but the person in the meeting only hears the sound coming back through my microphone, which makes for bad sound quality.

Is there some way that I can hear sound and share it using the "share sound" option at the same time?

I use zoom through out the week with smaller meetings with no issues

our congregation uses Zoom to host our worship services, before during and after services I have no connection issues

but if I take the lead in a discussion , as soon as I start to deliver my talk Zoom will start to glitch and eventually logs me out

a fairly new computer I have over 16gb free of ram and connected directly to an ethernet connection running 950DL/900UL

I've reinstalled zoom, made sure other devices were off .... scratching my head,  as it only happens when I need it to work

Zoom has been crashing, kicking my device offline, and I fix it by unplugging and replugging my ethernet cable.   I've ruled out bad ethernet ports.  My internet provider did not see any issues with my internet when I called them immediately, no broadband issues or slowness and no reports on their end of any outages or lags.  Each time, Zoom asked if I would approve it to send an auto filled "unknown error" to itself to log the issue.  In the middle of the conference I even ran my ethernet cable out the window and connected to my neighbor who has high speed internet from a different provider and had the exact same issue, so that seems to rule out the internet as the problem.

I would be on the Zoom webinar or the Zoom meeting up to 30 minutes before this would happen, it seemed to happen from 2 triggers: 1) just a couple minutes before I was going to bring in the audience in a webinar (maybe it was triggered by a large number of people joining the waiting room 1-2 minutes before start time?) and 2) in Zoom meetings when I would screen share a video to a large audience it would freeze and crash and described above (the video was downloaded not on the web and I had just tested it several times in a practice room with 1 person prior to sharing to the large audience).  It's just very odd that the "fix" was unplugging and replugging my ethernet cable.

Has anyone experienced this and can help me identify if it's a Zoom problem or what the issue is?
