Windows chat does not open

I have the latest zoom version on ubuntu 22.04, and since this version it is no longer possible for me to open the message window, nor the reactions, nor anything else. Does anyone have a way to solve it?

I host a class on ZOOM.

In the last few weeks on a regular basis I get chucked out, just a tiny blip of internet strength and it chucks me out.

It doesn't look professional and if I am recording, this is an added extra issue.

My internet provider says I have good connection and a strong signal.

I have a TP link connection as well to my desktop, so this should help with connection.

Does anyone else experience this problem?

Can I do anything to help with this?

It is frustrating it has just started happening in the last few weeks.

Thanks

We are a church and we would like to use the same credentials to host the meeting from different locations.   Currently anytime a different person or a different location is used a pass code is sent to the email account that is required for sign in as host.  This really makes it difficult if not impossible for us to work with.  Is there a work around or some other way we can allow multiple people to sign in as host for our meetings.  Please note we only need one host for the meeting and each meeting will be at a unique time.  So, only one meeting will be running at any time.

All of a sudden starting May 1st I can no longer disable my waiting room. I did not make any changes to my settings. It used to be I could start my meeting, let people file into the waiting room and either admit them one by one or uncheck "enable waiting room" and from then on anyone who entered could just come on in.

Once I start teaching/talking I cannot be monitoring the waiting room! I've tried adjusting every lock/unlock/passcode/no passcode feature to no avail.

I'm beyond frustrated with this. My entire business hinges on the smooth entrance of people into my classes!

We have a 10month study curriculum that we're doing with a static group of participants each week.

Currently, we have 20 participants - 2 of which are facilitators.  After we meet as a large group, we want to breakout into 2 breakout rooms for the facilitated discussions.   We would not complete our curriculum in a reasonable time if all are in one large discussion each week.  But, I don't want "two groups" to naturally form among the larger group.

I want to randomly assign 18 of the participants between each breakout room each week - but I want our 2 facilitators to never be in the same breakout room.  Facilitators will be host/co-host.  Can I have zoom assign the host/co-host to different breakout rooms and randomly assign everyone else between them each week?

(I saw a similar question from 2023 in this board - but there was no answer to that post.)

Thanks,
Dave

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I'm currently setting up a touch device (digital whiteboard) in a classroom to create a hybrid teaching experience. The idea is to run Zoom on the device (which uses Windows) and have an extended screen where the teacher can see only the participants' video.

So far, things are working well: when the teacher starts the meeting and shares their screen, the content is displayed correctly on the main device, and the participants’ video appears on the secondary screen — without interruptions.

However, there is an issue: when a student or participant shares their screen, their content is shown on the secondary screen instead of the main one. This behavior is unexpected and problematic, as we want shared content to always appear on the main display and have the control toolbar always there as well.

We found a temporary workaround by connecting a mouse and manually dragging the Zoom window back to the main screen. While this works, it’s not ideal since the device is touch-based and doesn’t include a mouse or keyboard by default.

Is there a way to configure Zoom or Windows to always show shared content (especially from participants) on the main display automatically? We’re aiming for a hands-free, fully touch-based setup.

Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I’m setting up a hybrid classroom experience using Zoom. The teacher will use a digital whiteboard that runs Windows and has a built-in front-facing camera. We’d like to add a second camera at the back of the classroom to provide another angle, but we haven’t found a clean way to do this yet.

Currently, both cameras work with Zoom — we can switch between them manually — but what we really want is to display both camera feeds simultaneously, or at least treat the second camera as if it were a separate participant (like a guest in the meeting).

I’ve seen some suggestions recommending joining the meeting again from the same device using the browser or another account to use the second camera, but that feels a bit clunky and confusing — especially for teachers who need a simple, reliable setup.

Is there a way to configure Zoom or use a plugin/add-on that allows both cameras to work more seamlessly during the same session? Ideally, we’re looking for the easiest solution possible, so it's easy to train teachers and ensure smooth interaction during classes.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Breakout rooms and I pad

I was told that I couldn’t initiate breakout rooms for a 6 person meeting if I used my I pad. That I needed a computer rather than an I pad. Is that true/? Is there a work around?
