Whiteboard use
I have a group of nine on Zoom. We use the Whiteboard each week; all of sudden they cannot type on the board, just me as I am the originator. Any suggestions?

With the latest update of Zoom, I am finding it hard to switch between colours when writing on the Whiteboard. In its previous iteration, I could click on the Pen icon, and it would bring up all the default colours. With this latest iteration, even though I have more colours available, I cannot switch as easily. When I select a colour for the Pen, it remains 'locked' or 'greyed out', and the only way for me to change the colour is to click on another tool (like the symbols tool), then click on the Pen icon again, then choose a new colour. Each time I want to change the colour of the Pen, I have to click on another icon, then re-click on the Pen icon to choose the new colour - making the process of writing on the whiteboard twice as long. Anyone else experienced this issue, and found a solution?

I am struggling with the updates to Zoom that happened yesterday. I have a PC and use the whiteboard all the time. The new toolbar is now located on the left side. My first issue is that I cant seem to drag it any where else. Secondly, when I click on the pencil, the option box appears. But the box will not go away. It should disappear when i start drawing but it doesn't. I stopped the "share" and the option box was still on my screen over top of a web page. The only way I could get it to go away was to end the meeting. Also the eraser is SUPER SENSITIVE. I go to erase something and other items disappear. This is really annoying. I then have to redraw the parts that disappear. Very unprofessional when working with a client. Please fix the eraser issues! I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to submit a ticket. I have the $15.99/month plan so I can't talk to a live representative. If its true that I can submit a ticket, then make it easier to find how to do so. Thank you.

I'm running Zoom on Windows 8.1 daily for several years without almost any issue and I've just updated Zoom to version 5.16.1. This version redesigned the annotation tool bar. It's great you can place it vertical but now I have a problem: I can't change the size of the text as I used to do it in the previous versions. Is this problem a bug in the new version or there is a way to do it that I don't know? Please help me solve this issue.

Quiet frustrating: I've prepared several whiteboards for the simultaneous use in the session. I was opening these whiteboards and was writing on them - but the participiants could not use them. So no collaboration was possible. Just one participant was able to write on my prepared whiteboard - while his access via browser. So how can I use prepared (!) whiteboards as a starting point for working and writing on it? And furthermore: When it will be possible to provide prepared whiteboards in breakout rooms? Thanks for help. While that was a annoying experience. 😞

Hi all, I use zoom to tutor students in math. Often I need a grid or coordinate plane as an overlay to the whiteboard. But, I don't know either how to drop an overlay - maybe a grid I make in excel - onto the whiteboard, where I'm still able to mark the grid with numbers, lines, dots, arrows, etc. Or, is there already a pre-made coordinate plane through zoom? Thank you for your help. deb

Hello! I updated Zoom a couple of days ago. Since then, my annotations have started to fail. While I am screen sharing and using the annotate tools, they disappear for a few seconds while I add text boxes, draw lines, use highlighters or shapes, click on tabs, and practically do anything that requires clicking or moving the cursor. It's really annoying because I use tools throughly, which means the participants can barely see what I am annotating. Edit: I played around with the controls in a Zoom meeting. I discovered that pausing the shared screen is what triggers the annotations to fail. Unpausing does not solve the issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom to no avail. I have a Macbook Pro 13-inch M1 from 2020 with MacOS Monterey 12.6.1. I would appreciate any feedback or recommendations to fix this issue. Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to create links that will navigate (move your screen focus) to another location on the whiteboard? The general idea is to have a whiteboard that has several sections; an overview section that could have clickable objects to navigate/zoom you to different sections of the whiteboard without having to use the minimap.

I recently purchased iPad 5th generation along with Apple Pencil and started seeing compatibility issues when I used Apple Pencil to write on Zoom whiteboard. There is a lag when one writes, the characters are unclear and appear sometimes not legible. I took it to the Apple store and they exchanged the iPad, Pencil and reloaded the software however this issue remained. I was advised by Apple representative that Zoom has issues with the Apple M1 chip and this needs to be resolved by Zoom with a software update. I do not have this issue with the Apple iPad 3rd generation the writing comes out perfectly well. Let me know if someone in this forum has seen similar issue and how was it resolved.
