We have a Samsung tablet running the Zoom Room controller and are able to invite the Room to the meeting.

If the Zoom Room is in attendance of the meeting via the app, it appears the Room is not able to "share screen". i.e. its own items from the tablet storage.

Is it possible to to have the Zoom Room controller tablet attend the meeting via the installed browser?

Why do I ask?

We have a day long event with presenters running a relay through the physical meeting room.

We have a cumulative presentation which would allow the speakers to simply walk in begin, speak, exit.

(Goal is to eliminate connection time, oh wait what slide are we on, disconnection/connection time.)

What I see in my mind:

  • tablet with Zoom Room controller off, not engaged
  • on the tablet, Browser joins the Zoom via the link included in the calendar to the room
  • (would the Zoom app need to be installed)
  • Browser is now able to share slides from tablet and be "home base" for presenters as they relay through the physical meeting space.

What am I missing? Is the room tablet attending the meeting able to share screen of contents housed on the tablet?

We have a Zoom Room running on a Crestron flex, with a Crestron controller and room scheduler attached to the Zoom Room. We have noticed that the time displayed on the scheduling display is off by a few hours, but the time shown within the Zoom Room is correct. I did not see anywhere to update the time on the scheduler's config. Has anyone else ran into this same issue? Thank you!

Hi everybody,

i got a Polycom System with a x50 (3.14.2-378005) system and a controller TC8 (4.0.0-210907). Both systems are up to date regarding the Polycom part.

The controller is running Zoom 5.13.10 (1832) but the x50 is still running 5.13.6 (2489) and won't update. When I click "update app", Zoom MDM is telling me, that the update is in progress, but it never finishes. It states "Upgrading to 5.13.10.2631" and thats it. Does anyone got a hint for me where to push it a bit?

Hello I have a Zoom Room that is running on a Lenovo ThinkSmart Core with a Logitech Tap as the controller and a Logitech Swytch. Zoom is version 5.14.5

When you connect the Swytch for BYOD you receive the message "Switch to BYOD Passthrough?" In BYOD mode, Zoom Rooms cannot be used normally. With an option to cancel and switch.

If you tap on 'switch' it will correctly turn into BYOD mode and function as expected. The panel disables a message that it is in BYOD mode now.

I checked the admin portal and the 'BYOD Connection Prompt toggle ' was enabled. I am trying to avoid having this message appear so the user does not have to interact with the touch panel to utilize BYOD.

I clicked on the toggle to disable the 'BYOD Connection Prompt' and the message does not appear but is replaced by a tiny BYOD icon in the bottom right of the panel. You still have to tap on that icon to allow the device to switch over into BYOD mode.

My question is there a way to disable both the pop-up and icon? so the user can just plug in and start using BYOD without any other interactions?

I have the exact same software and hardware in another room and when you plug in, the Zoom room flashes for a moment and BYOD kicks in. Instead of stating it's in a BYOD mode it still shows the normal Zoom room controls. There is no prompt or icon and BYOD just works without any other interaction.

I see from the zoom release notes for December that now when admin's disable the toggle it will make that icon appear in the bottom. Trying to determine if this is now expected behavior, is there no way to truly disable this prompt anymore? Also why it doesn't do it in another room.

Greetings,

I am pretty surprised that this was asked for two years ago in the developer's forum and the only 'solution' I've seen so far is a guy who wrote his own app using the Zoom Rooms Controller (ZRC) API because he couldn't link to the ZRC app.

All I want to do is have the app for my control system 'call' the ZRC app.  I do this for lots of other apps now: thermostat apps, music streaming apps, lighting control apps, garage door control apps, etc.  You can also do this for plenty of native Apple apps, like music:// to go to what used to be called iTunes.

The regular Zoom app has this iOS URL (zoomus://) as seen here:

https://marketplace.zoom.us/docs/sdk/native-sdks/additional-tips/launch-zoom-client-from-your-app

I want an iOS URL to launch the Zoom Rooms Controller app because my control system already manages 4 TV lifts, pop-up microphones in a long conference table, audio levels for the in-ceiling speakers, microphone muting, camera PTZ, lighting, and other sources for the televisions.  But it's the ZRC app that's going to initiate and receive video conference calls and manage the directory.  I'd like for my control app to be able to bring users directly to the ZRC app once they're ready to make a call.  Ideally the ZRC app would offer a return link to my controller's app so that once a call is in progress the user can use my control system to manage the audio, camera and lighting.

I'm not an iOS app developer, but from my understanding this is a simple declaration in the app, with another simple specification to permit returning to the calling app.  I tried to get some traction in the developer forum because I thought that was the right place, but they directed me here.

https://devforum.zoom.us/t/zoom-rooms-controller-url-schema/2986

Thanks for any help or insight you could offer.  I am not the only one looking for this, and it baffles me that there is a link to the regular Zoom app, but not to ZRC.   Are the development teams for those two apps that isolated?
