Zoom Rooms Installer x64 5.15.7.3094 MSI setup hangs

When installing or upgrading Zoom Rooms Installer x64 5.15.7.3094 MSI (zoomrooms-5.15.7.3094-x64.msi) on Windows 10 22H2 PCs, the setup/install hangs and never completes. I've eliminated several security agents as the cause by uninstalling the agents before attempting to install Zoom Rooms Installer. We use an enterprise deployment tool called Tanium, and all installs/upgrades run as the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account.

The installation command line is:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tanium\Tanium Client\Tools\SoftwareManagement\data\temp\tasks\Deployment_89_task_141\zoomrooms-5.15.7.3094-x64.msi" /qn /norestart ALLUSERS=1 ACCEPTGDPR=true SILENT=true /lvx* "C:\<proprietary folder>\logs\Zoom-Rooms-Installer-5.15.7-20230923150010-install-silent-Setup.log"

The install hang does not occur on every PC and about 50% of them succeed. I'm stuck at trying to figure out why the setup is hanging. Please help!

The entire MSI log is attached as "Zoom Rooms Installer x64 5.15.7.3094 MSI Setup Hang Log.pdf". The last line in the "Hang" log is where the hang occurs and there is no further logging after that. The C:\jenkins\ folder does not exist on any of our PCs, even those where the installation succeeds.  I've also attached an example log file (Zoom Rooms Installer x64 5.15.7.3094 MSI Setup Success Log.pdf) where the install was successful, for comparison.

All assistance will be much appreciated!

Scott

I've been hosting remote church services for well over a year, and have been generally happy wit the outcome.  I've now been asked if I can duplicate the experience inside a church that seats 150+ with a 2 story vaulted ceiling, organ and soloist.  The room is previously mic'd and speaker-ed with a 20+ year old Radio shack amp.  I tested using multiple PC's, and the video isn't a problem, but I have no idea what to do about the sound.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

How does Zoom Room "Display room occupancy status" work?

Is there any documentation for this?

There are so many more settings now, why can't they have links to documentation?

Hey,

we run 4 zoom rooms on polycom TC8 with poly studio x50 and x30's. two local at main office and two remote.  Recently we added the "support interoperability  for zoom rooms" and turned on support for  MS Teams web client etc.

This works great for us, the meeting shows up and has the ability to join (as guest) which is great. Awesome feature.  EXCEPT one thing....

It only shows a "Join" button on MS Teams meetings in 2 of the 4 rooms.

In the rooms where it works it shows the meeting name, the join button, and the host name.

In the rooms where it doesn't work, it only shows the host name. No other info, and you have to manually enter your meeting ID and pass code.

This is extremely frustrating to our user base.

Anyone see anything like this?

I opened a ticket with Zoom, #18163003

So far the responses have included request for us to get into PowerShell and make changes or updates.

This cannot possibly be the answer since we didn't set anything up in PowerShell for the other rooms to begin with, they just worked when we toggled on the Interoperability options.

I was hoping someone in the community has seen this and has a quick and easy response for me.

Thank you!

We use a fleet of Meta Portals (10inch and Plus size) in the office. These work marvelously as Zoom Rooms clients and can be easily managed by the admin. I have noted after a recent meeting using one of the devices that a message appeared saying Meta (Facebook) will remove the Zoom app from the device in few weeks on January 31st.

I dug around online and there is absolutely zero information on any upcoming change on Meta's website. However, Zoom has a support page which confirms it.

If this were to happen, the Zoom Room clients would stop operating, correct? I mean, Rooms can't work without the Zoom app, it would seem. It is unclear if this is Meta's decision or Zoom's, but given that the app is set to be "removed" as opposed to simply becoming inoperable hints at Meta's hand. Is there nothing Zoom can do to talk them out of it? It's a 3rd party service, what does the hardware manufacturer care? Does Zoom have another hardware partner offering the same Zoom Rooms touchscreen functionality but who is more committed to their customer than Meta?

When I click on Zoom, I get Zoom Workspace.  If I get an invite from the participants list and send it to someone, they end up in a Zoom waiting room...different from where I am.  At least that happens regularly. I never know whether it will work or not.  I have the feeling there are two Zoom apps running at the same time.  If we both close Zoom and try again, it may work.

Suggestions?  Thank you.

I have a Logitech Rally Bar along with Tap IP configured for Google Meet. Some of our meetings are Zoom, and I heard that Zoom interop should be capable for free. I went into the Google Meet and configured it to allow Zoom interop. (I also added a token from my Zoom account to allow it to bypass waiting room.) I believe I am supposed to see a Zoom dropdown or I'm supposed to be able to join a meeting that has a Zoom invite and says via Zoom. I get the message "Can't connect to this meeting" "This device can't connect to Zoom video conferences". However it does say that Zoom is enabled. Can anyone help? Thank you!
