add another session button disappeared

I use to be able to add another session in my recurring meetings by just clicking on the 'add another session' button. Something has changed as the option is no longer there. however, all videos and responses from the service ticket just keeps to go to your recurring meeting and click the button to add a session which is very unhelpful if there is no button there to click. Has anyone else had this issue and found a workaround? So far, I have had to add multiple days of recurring meetings per client and then deleting all the days I don't need which creates another problem. Thanks

I have encountered this issue since August and hoping that Zoom can give me back the "Add another session" button!

I submitted a ticket and getting 1 response back a day. They are now trying to get it approved to be escalated to a higher tier. Will see what happens here and will let you know if they ever fix it.

My solution to the missing "Add another session" button is as described below.

  • I found that for a recurring meeting series when the  "Registration" requirement is enabled (ticked), then when you later click "Show all occurrences", then  "Add another session" button is seen.
  • However when the "Registration" requirement is disabled (unticked), then when you later click "Show all occurrences", then  "Add another session" button is missing.

I don't know whether this had always been the Zoom web portal's behaviour, since for recurring meetings I almost always have the "Registration" requirement enabled.

Recurring meetings scheduled with dates and time is merely a convenience that for many is not very convenient. Most of us use a recurring meeting with "no fixed time" and just inform the client the date and time when we actually meet. That way there is no need to "add another session".

thank you. I will look into this. Maybe this will be my work around.

hmmm..I see your point, but some people do prefer the button to be there as they think that it's more convenient. What if we need to schedule meetings on multiple days for the whole month at one go, or if we need to add extra sessions? This is just some people's preference.

But I use the same channel for different meetings and I have to set time because then there are other meetings. For our activity it is very important to be able to add another session. Does anyone know when this incident will be resolved?

so after constant email communications, they finally scheduled me with someone in the next tier. We had a voice call and removing the 'add another session' was a part of the upgrade/update. The work around included (forgive me if my wording isn't perfect, trying to replicate what they took me through and putting it in writing:

1. set up your recurring sessions and save

2. go to edit, then edit entire series

3. scroll down to where it says 'end date', and it shows after x occurrences

4. increase the number of sessions to include the additional number of sessions you want to add. For eg, it says shows after 7 occurrences and you want to add 1 more session, so increase 7 to 8, then hit save

5. click on 'show all occurrences', and at the end of the list, you will see the extra session there where you can now change the date and time.

I found this workaround to be tedious and took a lot of time for the amount of clients I needed to make these changes with. I decided to go with storyhub solution above of no fixed time and trying to work with that. zoom had no other solutions other than this was an upgrade. For those that need this feature, I hope this helps.
