On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Hello @Hazem96, thank you for posting to the Zoom Community!

  1. Open the Zoom app on your computer.

  2. Click on the Settings icon (usually a gear symbol).

  3. Go to the Recording tab in the left-hand menu.

  4. Under the Computer Recording section, click the Open button next to the folder path.

This will open the folder where your recordings are saved. You should see both the audio and video files inside.

Let me know if that helps!

hi @CarlaA  , thanks for your reply
I'm sure that I opened the video file and only can hear my voice even though I recorded the whole desktop session, but still only showing the blank screen and only the voice working

Hi Hazem96,

Sounds frustrating!

To check I understand your question, I have some clarifying questions that hopefully will get you helpful answers.

I, admittedly, don't have any answers for you, but I want to help you get them.

Are you saying:

  1. during the live Zoom meeting your video was visible and your voice was audible, both to yourself and others,
  2. you did not use "hide self view" during the meeting,
  3. you recorded the meeting and were able to find the recording just fine, and it played audio and video just fine,
  4. the recording *sounded the same* as the live meeting you experienced,
  5. the recording   *looked different* from the live meeting you experienced in one key way: video of you was missing,
  6. the recording showed, in the place where you would expect to see your own face, just a black rectangle instead.

Did I get that right?

Hello @RationalHearts ,

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude for your assistance. To provide more clarity on the issue, I am using only my microphone during the session and have disabled my camera prior to starting. I share my entire PC screen and begin recording the session. However, when I review the recorded video after the meeting, I notice that while my voice is audible, the screen remains blank, even though I am certain I am playing the video file. I am still unsure as to why the screen capture is not being recorded properly.

I hope this explanation provides a clearer understanding of the situation.

Hi @Hazem96,

I'm sorry for the difficulty you experienced.

Could you please verify the file name you are opening is .mp4? Additionally, I recommend trying a different video player, such as VLC, to open the file.
