Hi there! I have alternate hosts set up for my multi-session Zoom event. We are doing some testing at the moment ahead of our event on 18 June. An alternate host should be able to start the backstage of an event, however that option is not showing for our alternate hosts. It is important that multiple people have the ability to start a session. How do I ensure that is possible? Is there a certain time frame when they can start it? Thanks for your help!

We are hosting an event for the general public that is paid.  However, there is one group of people who we want to provide free access to the event and the recordings of it for the next year as a part of a package they have been sold.  Is there a way for us to create a code that only they use which gives them free access? Or a link we can create which would allow them to attend live, as well as to see the recordings later?

I am using Teachable for professional training and coaching sessions. Teachable has an app for Zoom that allows for seamless integration. I can schedule a Zoom meeting for my students and the session and recording automatically upload into the Teachable Session.

The problem is that each event has a unique Zoom Link. Is there a setting where the Zoom Link could be the same for every session?

Good morning,

Our company holds roughly 30 webinars a year. This year, we are using HubSpot as our overall sales and marketing CRM and platform.

What I'd like to know is, how can we make it where if a HubSpot form is filled out it simultaneously fills out and registers the person for the Zoom webinars? This way, the user won't have to click "Register" again when he gets to the Zoom registration form.

Hello, I'm new in webinars admin. I did a practice with my client and agency today and we were connected with 5 computers. All of them viewed panelist desktop sharing very well, but only three viewed panelist camera and sharing video good (two via LAN and one via WiFi), two of the viewed very poor. We checked the band speed of those with problems and they were good (speed test showed 600 Mbps, both via WiFi). The only common part of the two that had problem with video quality is that they have quite old computers, but what I don't understand is why they viewed desktop sharing of the panelist good and webcam/video sharing poor.

Can you help me to understand why someone had problems and someone not, considering that is not a band speed problem?

Thanks a lot!

There is a sharp increase in the demand for Zoom calls requiring simultaneous interpretation.  While this function has many excellent qualities, in practice we have identified some important gaps.  To respond to this demand and provide quality service, we are forced to implement makeshift patches to compensate for certain limitations in Zoom’s service.  Below is a list of suggestions compiled over the past months of intensive, daily use of Zoom’s Interpretation function.

The suggestions marked in bold would have the greatest positive impact for all involved. These changes would aid interpreters in using industry best practices, create ease of management/use for meeting hosts, and expand accessibility for people with limited internet access, among other things. They would also encourage us to continue recommending Zoom to our clients, rather than researching other options to recommend.

Management:

  • Allow co-hosts to manage interpretation feature
    • Allow hosts and co-hosts to assign language channels for participants without removing the option for participants to choose their own language channel.
    • Enable hosts, co-hosts, and interpreters to see which language channel each participant is using and how many people are listening on each channel.

      Breakout Rooms:

      • Offer interpretation option in at least some breakout rooms, or in all if possible
        • Full control by host for interpreter(s) to be placed in any breakout rooms at will

          Interpretation available for all participants:

          • Make interpretation available to people joining meetings via phone only (having access to the language channels by pressing 1, 2, 3…?).

            Language Channels:

            • Enable interpreters using the same language combination to hear each other AND to hear interpreters on other language channels
              • This will make switching between interpreter turns immeasurably smoother, improving the experience both for interpreters and for language channel listeners
                • This will enable interpreters to do relay interpretation by interpreting what we hear from interpreters using a different language pair/audio channels, thus enabling Zoom events in more than two languages with ease
                  • Enable  interpreters to choose “floor” or “off” channel in order  to be heard by everyone when needed (currently once interpreters are assigned, they cannot speak to the whole floor, only to those who have chosen interpretation and only to one channel at a time)
                    • Enable people watching a cloud recording to view the complete video in a single language while on their smartphone or tablet, or if they’re using a computer, to not have to toggle between the main audio and the language channel.
                    • Slider when original audio is unmuted so listeners can determine the sound level they prefer when listening to original audio and interpretation.

                      Visual:

                      • Allow interpreters to move the language toggle button, in order to prevent chat notifications and subtitles to cover this button, and prevent interpreters from changing channels easily
                      • Ability to rearrange windows (to put interpreter's window next to presenter, or put two interpreters together etc.). Also, ability to prevent window rearrange when someone stops video feed (some way for participants to individually arrange and lock the window order to their preference)
                      • Ability to pin a comment in the chat so that translation can be provided with the original comment, or ability to respond directly to a comment in the chat to provide translation
                      • Avoid accidental “end meeting” when host/co-host intends to “end interpreting”
                        • Move the “end interpreting” button farther away from the “end meeting” button
                        • Differentiate the “end interpreting” button visually from the “end meeting” button

This list for requested improvement represents input from over 30 interpreters listed below working in spoken and signed languages within the language justice framework across the U.S. and beyond. I created a Zoom meeting with required questions that have to be answered by attendees when registering for the event.  I also created the same event in Eventbrite.  After connecting to Zoom from Eventbrite and specifying the meeting I want to attach to, an error message is displayed by Eventbrite  directing me to disable the required questions before the connection can be established.

Disabling the required questions is non-negotiable since the a larger number of attendees will be registering using the Zoom registration link,  and we need to capture the lead information.  The Eventbrite "event" is configured with a maximum of only  25 tickets.

Question:  Is there a workaround to this issue to allow Eventbrite registrants to be automatically registered in Zoom through the integration?

Additional Info:

I attempted to use Zapier but in setting up the Zap,  Zapier is requiring me to insert attendee biographical information. However that information won't be available until an attendee registers in Eventbrite.   I have a screenshot of the Eventbrite error if that would help.  Not sure how to upload it to this post.

Here is the exact error message;

"This meeting/webinar has required parameters included, it could affect the synchronization of your attendees.  You can disable these parameters by clicking on " Disable Required Questions link"

If the link is not clicked, then the only option on that page is "Back"

Help please.  My Event is this Friday - May 31, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.  Time is running out.

Hi there,

I run Webinars as a part of my job, and have done for the last year or so. I've never had an issue where I've lost internet or power during a Webinar, until today when I was part way through another meeting (on another platform) and our internet went down.

My question is, if I lose internet while hosting a Webinar, what happens to that Webinar? Does it end for everyone, or will the "hosting" go to one of the people on the panel? Do I need to make someone a co-host when they join the Webinar, so that if this happens it automatically swaps the hosting abilities over to them, and the Webinar continues?

I also record the Webinars (to the cloud, not my computer) as a part of my role in hosting them, will the recording continue automatically?

I've tried Googling this and couldn't get a great answer, so thought it would be easier to ask on here!

Thanks

Hi, I am hosting a webinar this week and need to work out how I can show several panellists while on a screenshare in Zoom Webinar.

I know it can be done as we have previously oursourced to a provider to run these events and they had their settings to there was a gallery of our Board members that could be seen even while screensharing slides. Our Board expects to be visible to our shareholders during the meeting.

I tried it today in a practice but when the screenshare is on, attendees can only see the speaker/person I spotlighted.

Help!
