Hello,
I am part of an IT team that is very big on security and privacy. What was questioned was, let's say Admin approves of the AI Companion, if the host does not enable the features during a meeting is the Companion still listening?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi @o_O
No, AI Companion is not constantly listening to a meeting just because the web setting is enabled. The host, either through the auto-start option in the web or manually starting during the meeting, must enable either/both of the AI Companion features during a meeting for our AI system to begin listening and creating a temporary transcript of the meeting. All participants are shown a prompt when this is activated, informing them of the active use of AI Companion in this meeting and the options to acknowledge and remain in the meeting or leave the meeting to avoid this interaction.
The same goes for the other AI Companion features in other Zoom Products. For example, Email Compose only reads the email thread when someone chooses to use AI Companion to help compose a reply. It does not access the email thread before being activated and accesses no other emails.
Hope that helps and let me know if you have any further questions. Otherwise, make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.
