Hi, I hope some can help me.
I am trying to sign in to zoom room controller that I installed on to the CP965 using a configuration file found here: https://zoom.us/client/latest/zrc.apk
When I run the app it take me to a sign in screen with options to sign in using, email, SSO, google or facebook. However I am told by our admins that I need to sign in using an activation code which they have given me. The activation code has worked on the Zoom Rooms app installed on windows micro desktop and is shows me the the room the activation code refers to. But I just can find how I use the activation code through the ZRC app on the CP965.
I have already update the firmware with the certified custom firmware found here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360001299063-Zoom-Phone-Certified-Hardware#h_746bf277-ad09...
Some of the support articles I found on Zoom support also suggest that you can sign in using an activation code but again I cant fine this option.
What am i doing wrong?

Hello, I have setup my new Yealink CP965, however it comes up with the error "Connect to Yealink Plug-In failed!". Does anyone have the correct link to the plug-in to download to the windows PC?

I'm just getting around to upgrading our CP960s to CP965s because of the EOL. I am not able to find any setup guides for this... anyone have anything they can share with me? I was not in this job when the CP960s were installed and I have no experience with them. Thanks in advance!

Steps required in October 2023:
-Obtain CP965 fw v.146.86.3.200 from Yealink directly - upgrade to this version
-Obtain CP965 fw v.143.30.0.10 from Yealink directly - downgrade to this version
At this point, you'll be able to run the CP965 as a Zoom Rooms Controller, manage via ZDM, etc., but will need to connect it via USB for audio i/o.
If you wish to use this as a virtual USB audio i/o device over LAN on a Windows PC, you'll need to reach out to Yealink once again to obtain the Zoom Rooms virtual USB plugin for Windows.
Unfortunately, none of this info is published anywhere - just sharing anecdotal evidence.

I can confirm this has worked for an install we did on January 23rd, so thank you for posting the links to the various firmwares required. The only issue we've run into is that the wireless mics don't seem to be recognized. I'll open a ticket with Yealink on this and hope for the best! We bought the CP965 because it was listed as a supported device. Its been much more fiddly than the Poly conference room phones we've used in the past.

Yes, got all of mine set up last week also. All are working with the required firmware updates. I would agree, not a very easy process, I think Yealink is trying to push a more expensive option, but with our Zoom Rooms not being used very much this was the best option for us.
Would be interested in what Yealink has to say about the wireless mics.

Any luck in getting the wireless mics to pair to it?
2024-02-11 11:45 AM
Yealink says Q2 on wireless mic support. I'm not holding my breath.
I'm actually struggling to get this device to NOT be a Zoom Room controller anymore. Any time I try flashing it with the Yealink firmware (tried both 143.86.0.10 and 143.86.3.200) it makes it about 11-12% of the way through the process then reboots...staying at the CP965 Zoom Edition firmware (143.30.0.10).
😕

Anyone here experiencing audio dropouts when connected using USB? It occurs around 20-30 minutes into a meeting. Only fix is to pull the USB and plug it back in.
Wireless mic support? Gonna have to find myself a replacement for my coffee mug coaster!

Remove that pesky USB cable now!
Hi all, we now have the Yealink CP965 running in Zoom Rooms without the need for the USB cable. It's now connected via ethernet only and acting as controller, mic and speaker. Zoom has updated documentation here: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0066969
The only difference between our previous config using USB cable for audio is the install of the Yealink Plugin for Zoom Rooms on the Zoom Rooms PC. This is easy enough, however, the .msi that the documentation directs you to didn't work for us. We downloaded this one: https://drive.yealink.com:4443/#/link/435B8D22B98756A1135F00FE61264F16%20%E6%9C%89%E6%95%88%E6%9C%9F...

Hello, any way you could activate that download again? I'm at the same spot, the Yealink Room Connect software doesn't detect the mic and speakers on the device.

Hi @Jholly10 ,
Unfortunately, you'll need to contact Yealink support and ask them to reopen the link to the file : Yealink Plug-in Software(2.33.43.0).msi. There might be a newer version now that works now, but this is the one we're currently running without issue. Yealink support are pretty good at responding to the request promptly!

Here is the most recent Yealink plugin for zoom rooms I got from Yealink https://ticket.yealink.com/ticket-service/attachment/downLoadFile?path=Wv7HOxX28YR5EoYyLPf3KA%3D%3D
2024-12-12 07:05 AM
Thanks that got me further along. My CP965 can now detect its own speaker/mic in a Zoom Room. They can be selected, but there is no sound or mic input/output happening. Did this happen to you by chance?
2025-01-14 11:40 AM
Did you ever find a solution here? I have the same problem with no mic/speaker functionality. I reached out to Yealink as the issue seems to be with the version of the Yealink Plugin for Zoom Rooms, but haven't heard back. Thanks!

We had issues as well. Ultimately, the solution was to completely uninstall the Yealink Plugin and the Yealink Room Connect Software as an admin. Then reboot and reinstall both applications (Plugin for Zoom Rooms, see link in @lorenfl's post above) and also RoomConnect which is under "Firmware" at this link: Yealink Support
Be ready to pair the devices again, if necessary, sometimes breaking that connection and re-establishing it can fix a lot of issues.
Beyond that, no idea.....Yealink support isn't the greatest and Zoom Support doesn't debug these issues (although that is a bit short-sighted IMHO because it's marketed as Zoom Hardware, which means there is/was a collaborative effort between the two companies).

We have two Zoom rooms with the CP965, and both quit mic and speaker about 6 weeks ago. I've been battling with Yealink, but they claim it must be a hardware failure, but they refuse to give warranty even though its under 1 year old. I think it must be an software issue though, there's no way both devices failed at once.
I couldn't wait any longer so have bought a new Poly controller instead.

We were on Yealink CP960 hybrid SIP and zoom room and due to EOL issue w zoom, we tried CP965. Really painful to get it set-up and no way to have hybrid mode. So we have switched to PolyTrioC60 which does not require hunting 100 layers deep on a website like Yealink to get a bunch of firmwares. So far so good with the Trio in a zoom room. No hybrid either but much easier to set-up. Only downside with Poly trio c60 is the remote microphones are wired pucks....very annoying.

I have a single CP965 set up since last week and it has been working very well except that I cannot see any setting to make it a SIP speakerphone as well, even though Yealink support replied to me that it is possible, except they did not say how exactly so I added a comment to my ticket to send me documentation. I believe they are confused that we are running a CP965 with Teams which apparently has more support and R&D. If provides me with an answer, I will post it here. Glad you found an atlernate solution.

First, thanks to the many talented contributors on this thread for sharing their experiences and solutions re: upgrading from CP960 to CP965. Like many of you, we were very satisfied with the CP960 and its all-in-one solution as a Zoom Room controller and SIP speakerphone. Unfortunately, we were forced to make a decision and move to a new hardware device that frankly, until recently, was not ready for prime time as a Zoom controller and speakerphone.
So this is where we are today. I have successfully upgraded to the CP965 using the versions of Yealink firmware for the CP965, Yealink Plug-In for Zoom Rooms, and Yealinke RoomConnect (see images below)
We have been using the CP965 for a little over a week and as a Zoom Room controller it operates identical to the CP960. That said, I have received confirmation from Yealink support this morning that the CP965 cannot be used as a SIP speakerphone and Zoom Room controller at this time. While I can count on one hand the number of times we used the CP960 in speakerphone mode over the last 2-3 years, it was nice to have it as an available conference room device if needed. Hoping that a future version of the CP965 firmware will add this feature back.
Apologies for the long e-mail, but thanks for the advice along the way.
Best regards,
