Hello,

I am trying to find out if there is a way for co-hosts to set others in the meeting as co-hosts.

Thanks for the support!

Hello KCody - to answer your question, only the host can set others during the meeting to a co-host.  Here is a list of Controls for both the host and co-host.

Controls for hosts and co-hosts

With meetings, hosts and co-hosts can control the following features:

  • Mute participants
  • Request that a participant mutes or unmutes (with pre-approved consent)
  • Stop a participant's video
  • Request that a participant starts their video
  • Prevent participants from screen sharing
  • Rename a participant
  • Put a participant on hold (if the waiting room is disabled)
  • Choose to play an enter or exit chime
  • Lock the meeting to prevent anyone new from joining
  • Place participants in the waiting room or admit/remove participants from the waiting room (waiting room can only be enabled by the host)

Only hosts have access to these features:

Can you give. me Co-host?

Tell me how do you Co-host

When you are the host of a meeting you have the option to add a participant as a co-host, by clicking o n the three dots in the participant's window. If you do not have this option you have to enable cohosts on the online platform settings or your organization may have disabled the option for co-hosts.

My co-host settings is enabled. I am a host and when clicking on a participant I cannot see the make co-host option anymore as I used to. I checked the co-host settings and it is already enabled. It was unlocked so I locked it. But if co-host is already enabled why is a host not able to make participant a co-host anymore like we used to?

Hi, @JulieW.

Go to Personal -> Settings -> Meeting tab and search for co-hosts, found under the In Meeting (Basic) section:

If this is enabled (as shown here) you should be able to set a participant to Co-Host.

If you are seeing the Lock icon, you’re probably looking at the Admin -> Account Settings section:

To be effective, thus must be set at the user settings level.

Ray -- Happy holidays, everyone! I’m taking a few days (mostly) off. See you in 2025!
