Our ATA Poly 400 is provisioned and registered with Zoom. I connected the ATA's phone port to the door box after provisioning. I press the button on the door box after connecting, but nothing happens. The receptionist should be able to hear it, but it's not. I believe that in order for the receptionist's phone to ring, the ATA must be set up for Ring Down.
Could someone please tell me how to set up the Ring feature on the receptionist's phone?

hi mba786,
you need to configure the ata's digitmap to auto dial your receptionist's extension when your door box button is pressed causing the line to go off-hook.

See also hp/poly admin guide page 80 for hot line syntax and examples on page 82.
<:1234> - Matches an empty phone number and replaces with 1234. This is the
syntax for a hotline to 1234.
<S0:1234> - Equivalent to the last example.
<:#> - Hotline to the number #.

I would caution on configuring local settings on the ATA. I suggest you test to see if it get's overwritten by Zoom provisioning. I had a similar need and used a Cisco ATA 192 (MPP). After applying the hotline dial plan mapping, the device kept rebooting and going back to the default mapping. I decided to use a Zoom template to push the dial plan mapping and it stuck. That basically implies that Zoom overrides the dial plan mapping. Alternatively, door boxes might have a local setting within its own programming to send the digits rather than using the ATA to do it. The ATA is still needed but it's the device configured for ring down in this case.

hi sparrow,
great advice.
what did you use for your zoom desk phone dial plan template?
i do not know if the zoom desk phone template i used for one of my poly vvx desk phones would work for ata 400. this works with vvx to auto dial extension 6700 when you pick up the handset:

Hey Eliot,
The Cisco ATA is quite different from Poly/HP Parameters. But according to your earlier response, the
<:1234> - Matches an empty phone number and replaces with 1234. This is the syntax for a hotline to 1234. Looks to be correct for the Poly 500 series ATA's. That parameter is different from the VVX's and Edge E series phones. Not to mention, the Edge B series also has its own parameter format and guide. Quite frustrating with the inconsistency within their own lineup.
