My Zoom version is 6.1.6 (43767), used on a windows desktop 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz.
I use the desktop app : Zoom Workplace
Everything worked fine until I was forced to update my Zoom desktop app to 6.1.6. 10 days ago.
The problem is:
While sharing a power point presentation (slide show) with students, if I play an audio file inserted in that presentation, the students can’t hear a thing.
I can hear the audio document although the volume appears down.
Students can still hear me talk and I can hear them.
The situation is the same on one screen or extended screen.
Surprisingly, a small number of ppt presentation work fine but the majority don’t.
I use the same software (MS ppt) and the audio files are all mp3 format.
So, I can’t understand why that is happening (sound being shared in some ppt documents and not in others)
Again, this issue only started recently with the Zoom version v6.1.6.
Yes, I am sharing the sound correctly, so 2 of the links below provided as support are of little help to me.
Anyone else with similar pb who was able to find a successful fix ?
Thanks for sharing.

I'm also facing the same problem. And my zoom version is 6.2.11. For old mp3 files (created like 2-3 years ago), it seems ok. But the latest mp3 files suddenly stop working.
At first I thought it was the bit rate of the MP3. But even when I convert to WAV or reduce the bit rate, it still doesn't work.

Yes, that remains a problem for my online tuition; I will have to change to another program when my subscription with Zoom expires.

Hello @Illyarrie,
I'm sorry for the late response and inconvenience.
When sharing slides or a PowerPoint presentation, kindly double-check if the share sound is toggled.
Please let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Thanks Yes, the "share sound" box is ticked. I've had numerous exchanges with the support dept of Zoom few months back. They are not interested in fixing the pb. OK; I am not interested in renewing my subscription for a product which is now inferior to what it used to be with a much much higher price tag.
