Unable to use the advanced Share function "Powerpoint as Background"

Hello. For several years I have benn using the advanced Share function "Powerpoint as Bakground" that you can find when you open "Share" and then choose the "Advanced" tab, but in the latest versions of Zoom this function is not working, it is greyed out, and there is a yellow warning sign (see the attached picture). The function is very useful if you want to start a meeting with a welcome text. When you use this function, it is very easy to use the meeting functions while sharing, because Zoom directly shares the Powerpoint-file, you don't have to open a new window to share. If Zoom has discontinued using this function, it would have been nice to be told, or that Zoom just removed the function.

 

Anyone who have had the same challenge and found a solution?

when you click the yellow triangle with the exclamation point, you see "You can now share slides as background with presenter layouts":

This doesn't work because you're in a tiny box and can't point to things on the screen. Totally lame and unacceptable. It would be great if Zoon would restore Zoon as virtual background.

Apparently Zoom removed the option to use PP as a virtual background. I had to go back to writing on a whiteboard for the classes I teach.

    Hello Community Members,

    We’ve heard from many of you in the community expressing interest in the return of the “Slides as Virtual Background” feature. We truly value your feedback and want to reassure you that our engineers are actively evaluating the possibility of bringing it back. However, at this moment, we do not have a confirmed timeline for when or if the feature will be reintroduced.

    We’ll keep you posted in this thread slides as virtual background as we have more information.

    In the meantime, you could use one of the overlay options that are available when screen sharing:

     


    This will give you a similar effect, since you can share a full-screen presentation and place your video on top of it.
    It works best with 2 displays connected.

    You have created an embarrassing dilemma for me. I am not sure how to resolve this for my presentation tomorrow. There are many graphic features that do not translate well to Slides.
