Using Whiteboards in discussion groups

MonicaWil
Listener

We tried to have a meeting in which we shared links to multiple whiteboards we created, thinking their group could access their own personal whiteboard while discussing over zoom. We were blocked from sending them to users outside of our "organization". How do we turn this off, so we can share them with external people? The buttons inside the whiteboard were greyed out.

At this point, we may as well use Mural.

Hello @MonicaWil

The ability to share with with users outside your organizations is controlled by your organizations' Zoom Admin.

You can see this link for more information on how an admin can control that setting: https://community.zoom.com/t5/Whiteboard/Whiteboard-Collaboration/m-p/117683/highlight/true#M905

If this specific board owner has disabled external access, this is where that setting is controlled.

Hope that helps!

Those instructions did not help. Is this due to our Zoom subscription only being Pro? This is what we see. it's all greyed out.

@MonicaWil

The screen shot you're showing is from the user settings for Whiteboard defaults.  (These are the ones that you'd access from zoom.us/profile/settings (or Personal > Settings > [Whiteboard]

If these are grayed out that means that your Zoom IT Admin (e.g. your IT Department) has disabled those settings at your company (or group) level.  You will likely need to talk to whoever your Zoom admin (e.g. IT department) and let them know you're trying to share with external companies.

Hope that helps!
