Surrendering a breakout room

If someone is a host and they create a series of breakout rooms but has to leave the meeting & they make someone else the cohost, Will the same groups be created if the original host leaves or surrenders hosting ability to the cohost?  There are times we have breakout rooms but 2 people cannot stay the full time and may overlap. I am just making sure the original person can surrender control and still have the same breakouts, even though they "randomly assigned the rooms"

Hey @mkol, if the host were to leave and not re-assing hosting permission, when the host clicks on 'Leave' the host will be prompt "Assign someone to be the new host, then click Assign and Leave". Found this in our KB article Passing host controls and leaving the meeting.

Here are some examples:

  • Participants List: Host, Co-Host, and Participant.

  • The host is prompt with a message to re-assign Hosting permissions. Both a Co-host and participant are an option. (Can't assign two hosts)
