Off Hook Dialing Configuration

TommyMac24

Trying to setup OFF HOOK dialing for a door phone. AKA - hot line phone. It's a Poly VVX 150 telephone. Need it to ring to an auto attendant upon going off hook.

I located a configuration file for an older model of Poly, but this series does not like the one I found.

Has anyone configured this before with a VVX Poly? Is there a way to configure this in Zoom?

hi tommymac24,

please see zoom support article on how to use desk phone templates.

Configuring desk phone provision templates (zoom.com)

How to create a provision template

Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

In the navigation panel, click Phone System Management then Company Info.

Click Account Settings.

In the Desk Phone section, click Manage under Provision Template.

Click Add.

Enter the following:

Name: Enter a display name to identify the template. Include the manufacturer's name since each template can only apply to one manufacturer.

Description (optional): Enter a description to help you identify the template.

Template: Enter key-value pairs supported by the manufacturer. For more details, see parameter examples and supported parameters.

For autoOffHook, use

In this example, when I pick up line 1 of my poly edge e100, it automatically dials extension 6700.

How to assign a provision template to a provisioned desk phone

Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Phones & Devices.

Find the desk phone you want to assign a template to.

Note: You can only assign one provision template to each desk phone. If there's already a template assigned, click Unbind Provision Template to remove the template from the desk phone, or you can change the assigned provision template.

In the Target Template drop-down menu, select the template to assign, then click Bind.

Re-sync the desk phone to finish assigning the provision template.

Would this work for a poly ccx zoom phone appliance? Currently testing with no success.

hi mowaddell,

I do not have a poly ccx so I cannot test.

Is your poly ccx in the appliance mode or the SIP mode.

Which poly ccx model do you have and what firmware is installed.

If the poly ccx is in the appliance mode, have you tried converting the poly ccx to a SIP phone and then apply the auto dial template?

Converting back to Zoom SIP mode

If the phone is currently in Zoom Phone Appliance mode, follow these steps to convert back to SIP mode registered to Zoom Phone.

Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

In the navigation menu, click Device Management then Device List.

Locate the phone you want to convert, click the ellipses button (...) in the right-side column, then click Remove from Zoom.

Note: If the Zoom Phone Appliance is signed in by the user, removing it from Device Management, does not force user logout.

Follow the process to provision the phone to Zoom Phone.

Make sure the device is in a logout state.

Tap on the phone screen, then tap the setting gear icon.

Tap General, tap System Settings, then tap Advanced.

Enter the local admin password.

Tap Administration Settings, tap Reset to Defaults, then tap Reset to Factory.

Note: The device firmware will update and may take up to 10 minutes with multiple reboot. Wait until the updates are completed and reboots have stopped before continuing.

After rebooting, the phone will be assigned to the phone user.

FYI - I did check with our Zoom TAM about adding a feature enhancement for hotline/PLAR/Auto Ringdown functionality native to the Zoom phone configuration rather then using ZP templates. This is on their radar and it will be coming in a future release.
