Force Users to use Company Number for Caller ID

Is there a way to force all Phone users to use the company's main number as the default outbound caller id? I know we can allow them to choose, but we need to have everyone default to the main number.  If there is a way to do this, I've yet to find it!

 

Thanks in advance for any help.

I appreciate the great information which is helpful. Unfortunately, I still do not see a way to force direct lines to use the company's main phone number as the default outgoing caller ID.  It's available, but still defaulting to their individual phone numbers.

i cannot figure out a good way to force users with direct numbers to select company's main phone number as outgoing caller id. 

 

on desk phones, you can assign the outgoing caller id.

 

you could remove the direct numbers from users and assign the direct numbers to auto receptionists that route calls to associated user extensions.

 

do you need direct numbers?

 

you might want to submit a feature request.
