Zoom stops responding when I attempt to use my webcam or go into the video-related settings

I had just installed Zoom, however every time I try to go into the 'video' and the 'background & effects' settings: The settings tab freezes and will not load. Even when I try to 'start a meeting', it crashes.

 

I'm not really sure whats the issue is or how to fix it. I've reinstalled it but it hasn't done anything. Any help would be nice.

maybe try updating it...? maybe try restarting your device...? maybe google it???

Its the latest version: 5.16.2
I did google it, but nothing turned up.

I'll try restarting, and see if that does anything

Restarting my PC fixed the issue
